oh gosh it's gorgeous! I've never seen a pattern like it, it's so beautiful and as a amateur crocheter, I completely appreciate the works(wo)manship this required

Hi Guys

For Christmas, I thought I would make my friend, who is a huge Harry Potter fan, a HP Christmas extravaganza present! I've been wanting to do something like this because I am a BIG Harry Potter nerd and I finally got my chance Smiley

First I made a Ravenclaw scarf, which is her favorite house, I did a pattern of 9 db ch blue, 3 sc bronze, 1 db ch blue, then 3 sc bronze, I was crocheting the whole bus ride home from college XD

the full length- about five feet long (40 ch wide)

detail shot (love the two colors together!)

model shot, it's so flippin wide that you only need to wrap it around once haha

then I packaged it from SPEW Smiley

Next, I made the Hogwarts trunk as both a present box and a storage container

the front- I painted it to look old then took a hammer to it and made random marks and banged up the edges for a more authentic effect

the top-hammered bronze tacks in to look more like a trunk

the handles were shining gold but I painted them black then scraped some off

And the coup de grace! Inside on every wall is a different house initial with the background in their respective colors

Roar! Roar! Gryffindor!

Green and Silver for cunning Slytherin

H for loyal Hufflepuff

And, of course, a side for clever Ravenclaw

Moving on, I made a parchment letter from Hogwarts that I painted then burned the edges of (first attempt nearly burned my kitchen down but that's another story)

the entire thing

the top is the letterhead that includes Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and Dumbledore's full title and the message says

"We are pleased to inform you that your kind donation to the Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare supported the efforts of Ms. Granger and have been noted. After the holiday season, your house, Ravenclaw, will be awarded ten points. For your support please accept this scarf, hand-made by the members of SPEW.
              Wishing you a happy holiday
               Yours Sincerely,
               Minerva McGonagall
               Deputy Headmistress
P.S. As a note "Holidays with Hags" is no longer required

And a close up

And "Dementor First Aid" which is a bar of chocolate Smiley (the back side of the label says 'from Moony' for an extra nerdy touch)

And I thought I would stick in a candy cane with a Honeyduke's label

And the whole shebang in the trunk

Thanks for looking and sorry about all the pics!

Happy Holidays! Smiley

Eeek! It's awesome! Love the cute cut of the shirt and the image is awesome! I think it's great, it has a nice gritty retro look and the color goes really well with the "wolfy" character Cheesy
counting down the days until New Moon!
