It's a Pellon shirt collar iron-on interfacing, medium weight. It's a rectangle bottomed bag so it helped to reinforce the edges (at the bottom and sides) with an extra seam. I also seamed the side panels with a paper bag type shape....uhh, if you look at the side of a paper bag you'll know what I mean! lol ..  so you can fold the bag down flat

Grin  These are brilliant!  And may have given me an excellent idea for holiday gifts (I'm allergic to cats, but lov'em, so I live vicariously through my siblings and friends).

Question: What would you suggest for materials that can stand up to mauling by cats?

I used a stretchy wool blend I found in the remnants section. I wouldn't use anything like cotton or any kind of quilting material. They'd easily tear through that with those hooks! I'd suggest a medium-heavy material or even wool felt would work. Cheesy

These are my sushi roll catnip toys  Cheesy They are hand embroidered and come in an origami box. There's an opening to put catnip in. My cat loves these things! I think I might try to sell them Smiley

I've browsed Crafster many times but never really had anything to show. This is my first post and my first successful bag! The others were a little wonky in some way  Grin . I actually knit the shrug first and I was inspired to make the tote when I saw the material at the fabric store. I had success selling the same style shrug on Ebay so I'm thinking of auctioning them of as a set. Too bad GGH doesn't make Sombrero yarn anymore!
