It's beautiful, and a great idea.

Thanks.  Good to know that scissors will work.  The saw idea sounds smart, but I'm with you--pretty wary about using them, and I don't own one so I couldn't even if I wanted to ;-)

The kitchen is great but I think my favorite is that step stool!  Reupholstered with a sweater--how clever!  It looks fantastic.

Neat!  I love the idea of reusing notebook wire.  You are a top-notch re-user!  How did you cut the top of the can (the part the circles are hanging from)?  Do scissors do the trick, or wire clippers?

Very cool! Instructables + Craftster users working together to bring us very awesome stuff.  I like it.   Cool
6  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Pysanky dye questions (total noob) on: July 16, 2011 05:16:07 PM
Hi, Faded_Dress!  I just joined Craftster & did a search for "pysanky", which is how I found this question...and hopefully not too late.

I hope you still have your mixed dyes, because they do store!  I have mine in Ball/mason jars, tightly sealed & stored upright, because you wouldn't want the dyes to spill.  They are 2 or maybe 3 years old now, and this year they seemed to be fine.  Sometimes, you'll notice that the dye comes out a little murkier than you'd like it to after a year or so--this especially happens with the yellow.  If you add another tablespoon or two of vinegar, it should perk back up.  Except don't put vinegar in the orange---the orange is a total weirdo, and will turn into a gelatinous mess if you add vinegar.  All the other colors, I think, are fine with vinegar.  Basically, if you had to add vinegar at the mixing stage, it will also help to perk  the color back up.  I'm going on my 3rd or 4th year, and I'm interested to see how long they'll keep, but so far so good.  And when they finally need changing,  The Ukrainian Gift Shop http://www.ukrainiangiftshop.com/ sells 'em for 75 cents a packet.

7  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / A big wave hello! on: July 16, 2011 04:44:23 PM
Hi, everyone!  My name is Ami & I live in Upstate New York.  I've wandered around the Craftster forums before, but never made it to posting...until now!  I'm a jack of lots of trades, master of absolutely none  Wink  I enjoy paper arts & making cards, I occasionally alter clothes, I make pysanky (Ukranian Easter eggs), although that is usually only at springtime.  I crochet & try to do different home decorating stuff.  I love love love seeing other folks' projects so it's good to be here.
