1  Re: End of Summer Random Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by missmandimarie on: October 03, 2012 10:41:30 PM
I received a super cute hoop from WhistleFish today. I've been really sick for the past week and it was a great pick me up Smiley

The whole thing. I love the camper with the curtains, the trees and flowers in their little pots, the little bird, everything!

Couple of close ups:

Thank you so much! Once I am feeling up to wielding a hammer (and decide where my hoopla wall should be) I will put this up Smiley

I love the hoopla!!!

3  T-shirt vest in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by missmandimarie on: August 14, 2012 07:06:15 PM
Lately my bf's white shirts have been developing an odd orange ring around the neck which smells sweet and won't go away. Instead of throwing the shirts out I kept them and decided to make some cute girly clothes with them. This time around I made a t-shirt vest!!! Sorry for the lack of pictures, I didn't think to take any til I was done.

To make the shirt I simply cut off the collar and sleeves and made a slit straing down the middle. I then cut off a longated triangle near the bust to help give it shape. I wanted pockets so I cut the armpit out of one sleeve to give it a nice shape them cut it in half so I had 2 identical shapes. I used these to make the pickets. I then created a hem and sewed it.

I hope you like it!!

4  Vodka Sunrise with fruity icecubes in Recipes and Cooking Tips by missmandimarie on: August 01, 2012 10:25:25 PM
Sorry for the somewhat adult content...alcohol and all but It is a yummy drink and I promise I am of age ha. I came up with this on a camping trip when all I had left was orange juice, vodka, and strawberry margarita mix. For this drink I used some of my "fruity" icecubes.

4-5 fruity icecubes (fruit frozen in lemonade, i used blackberries and strawberries)
1-2 shots vodka (however strong you like it)
4 tbsp strawberry margraita mix
orange juice

Start by putting the fruity icecubes in your glass. Add vodka. Then add your strawberry mix, and fill your glass with orange juice. You can really add as much or as little or any of the ingredients that you want, thats what I love about cocktails ha. Mix it all together and enjoy. As the icecubes melt you can taste the lemonade, and at the end you can yummy fruit to munch on. SO GOOD!!!!!!
sorry for the horrible cell phone pics

Great shot of the fruity icecubes

Before you mix it all together

8  Beer bottle into wine glass in CHALLENGE 76 ENTRIES by missmandimarie on: July 05, 2012 02:01:19 PM
To keep my house clean and glass (and toxic dust) free I did the majority of this project outside. I scored the glass in my garage then using boiling water and a hose over a tub i broke the glass outside, then sanded outside and even glued the top drinking glass to the base outside and let it dry out there, the base was glued indoors. Other than that i did all of it outside!!

I got my oringal idea from this site. I seem candles made from vodka bottes and thought why not drinking glasses?? after doinh research on how to do it i made some drinking glasses and this time took it up a notch!
heres a link to the oringal post i got my idea from

heres the finished project that is current on display in my kitchen window

some cut and sanded pieces on my bench out on my front porch

sanding sanding sanding....lots of sanding

using wet sand paper to lessen the amount of dust created...i didn't want to wear a mask in 100 degree heat

10  no sew tank in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by missmandimarie on: June 18, 2012 10:41:11 PM
After a shopping spree at the local good will I decided to reconstruct an ugly plaid shirt to a tight racer back. I removed the sleeves, leaving some excess for straps, which I criss crossed and hemmed with iron on fabric glue. I did a basic knot back to take in the sides. sorry for the bad pics...had to use my cell phone once again I promise to get a real camera soon so i can take better pics
