1  Greyjoy fun! in Needlework: Completed Projects by d3v14n7 on: March 21, 2013 01:50:01 PM
Hello Craftsters!!

After making the Stark house towel, I decided to make Greyjoy as well. I love the design of the Greyjoy house so made myself a creative and colorful hoop. I tried to trace the design as well as possible (I skipped a step and used my computer as a light box) and I didn't bother to erase the lines either (sooo lazy). Anyway, with the tentacles that were in the design, instead of embroidering them, I used french knots (first time to really use french knots, so pardon the unevenness).

I had lots of fun with the curves and I took some liberty with the colors.

2  Winter is Coming! (not, thank God) in Needlework: Completed Projects by d3v14n7 on: March 20, 2013 02:08:39 PM
Hello fellow Craftsters! It has been awhile since I have created anything and I'm on staycation and recovering from a recent surgery. So, basically I'm bored out of my mind.

As most of you may know, The Game of Thrones is soon to air and my dad LOVES that series (tv and books) and decided to embroider his favorite house coat of arms/logo (which is Stark, btw). I know something similar has been done, and I say similar because the one that was made before mine is like way better (and I have no patience to stitch EVERYTHING in) not to mention that it is also inspiration for this creation.

I was limited on supplies because most of my fabric stash has a cutesy design on it and I need some plain white fabric, the first thing I found was a towel! So I started on that.

This is the back of the towel:

It is all in back stitch. I wanted clean lines and tried to make the logo as simple as possible (no expert here). I was able to finish it in the first 2 Star Wars movies and about 5 1/2 episodes of The Dresden Files, which is in no time for me, I barely finish anything I start.

I folded it into the towel form it's suppose to be and you can only see the middle of the work (duh, didn't even cross my mind until I was too far in to go back). I've decided to create a wall hanging from it using the original dish towel and cutting out dowel holes for it and getting a nice fancy hanger for it. Sorry for all of my rambling! Comments and critiques welcome!

4  Re: Mystery Critter Swap GALLERY (send by Oct. 4th) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by d3v14n7 on: September 28, 2011 08:17:04 PM
Hello everyone! I'm just posting pics of the package I got from FeliciaSlayDCRG!

Group Shot:

The mystery critter and her baby!

And my extras!

I'm so excited about all of it! I got 2 patterns, some green decorative ribbon and an apron (it's the background in all the pics). I did get an action shot, but it came out blurry and then my camera died Sad Once I charge it though I'll get a pic of it up here. I love everything I got and can't wait to try out the patterns and wear my new apron while cooking Grin

5  Companion Cube Filet Crochet in Crochet: Completed Projects by d3v14n7 on: September 26, 2011 03:39:08 PM
Hello! I love the game Portal, and I've never tried filet crochet before. I decided to combine the 2 and this is what I got!

I used regular 4 weight yarn, in black, my 6 mm hook and all the black yarn already in my stash! That's why part of it is thicker than the other side because of the different brand yarn (Vanna's Choice and Red Heart) I used. I ran out about 2/3 into the process and had to buy more. It took me about three days and is about 22" x 24". I used my cross stitch computer program to upload a photo of the companion cube and went from there.

It surprised me by how easily you can make mistakes!  Tongue Here it is! C&C welcome!

I thought it came out pretty well considering I just printed a picture out of him and taped it on the pumpkin.
Hope ya'll enjoy!

8  Dachshund puppy!! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by d3v14n7 on: September 08, 2011 06:26:36 AM

This is my first try at some 3D toys. I usually make flat things, so this was going a little out of my comfort zone, but all went well!! My mom loves dachshunds and I had a fabric print with dachshunds. So naturally I would have to make a little dachshund out of dachshund print fabric!

So there you have it! I got that pattern from the book Palm-Size Softies: Patterns and Ideas for 44 Stuffed Pets and Dolls That Fit in the Palm of Your Hand by Hitomi Takahashi, Mikiko Matsui and Akemi Tsubo.

9  Halloween Wreath in Halloween Decor and Parties by d3v14n7 on: September 08, 2011 06:21:32 AM
So I was wandering around Michael's and saw all the awesome Halloween decorations they had and got to thinking that I needed to make a wreath! This is my first wreath and isn't super stable, but was very fun to make! All I used was a wire frame, some Halloween garland (2 kinds), black aluminum floral wire, black roses, a few silver skulls and one purple skeleton! I hope you all enjoy!

And some details:

Sorry about the blurriness, it's hard for me to catch some things clearly especially when it's so sparkly!  Grin

Hey! Here's my package from JLedbetter!

I love how there is only one tooth sticking out on one side of the cupcake monster Smiley

And here are the monsters separate and closer. She couldn't figure out between skulls or cupcakes, so she did both!

Thanks so much Jacqueline! I really appreciate it! They are so awesome!!
