1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Finding a manly pattern on: July 07, 2011 03:09:12 PM
I have found this stunning afghan with hope of recreating it myself. Only problem is, I cant seem to find a pattern. I am kinda new to crocheting so please forgive me. lol

I have asked the woman where she found her pattern for it and I have searched and can't find it. I am kinda new to everything. Just been working on potholders and then going on the some easy hats, etc. I really want to make this for my boyfriend for Christmas. I know I want to use some really soft yarn, black, grey, silver, to keep it manly for him ya know.

I would love anyone's advice on where I may be able to find something similar.
2  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Make up brushes on: June 23, 2011 10:24:46 PM
>>>Please move this if this is not in the right place to post about this.

So I see alot of people admire makeup on this site and I have been checking out the make up is an art board which can be found here https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=41350.0 but no one has posted on that thread for over three years.

Anyhow my question is, what is everyone's favorite make-up brushes? At the moment I am using some that my dad bought me called Sonia Kashuk. They are pretty good, and he got them at Target. I have lost most of them so I've been wanting to replace them.

Any other favorite items should be added here too maybe. Like everyone's must-haves in their make up cases. Such as my favorite gold eyeshadow Essence Color & Shine in 02 Stage Beauty. I recommend this light shimmery brown to anyone. Its AMAZING.

I'm really sorry about the lengthy post but I look forward to everyone's input!
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Where to Start on: June 23, 2011 03:00:43 PM
So when I was about 13 I really wanted to learn how to crochet and my dad knew someone that could... well long story short, I COULD NEVER LEARN FROM HER!
So now my question is, should I just never try again? I am much older now and have more crafting abilities under my belt so i figured it would be easier to learn now.
Next question is, should I try finding someone to teach me in person, by video, by a book? Please let me know how everyone started.
I would really love to be able to make my nephew blankets and myself some hats and scarfs lol.
Thank you in advance for everything.
4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / An old boyfriend book on: June 22, 2011 09:50:03 PM
So this was made for a high school boyfriend, but it was something that I have kept ahold of for some reason.
I figured since I really enjoy paper crafts now and will be posting more projects in the near future I thought this would be a good one to start. It has some poems that I had written, and some images that he drew.
The little heart was just from felt and super easy. Pretty cheesy and lame but everyone started somewhere Cheesy
There is one page with a curse word so I upload it to photobucket and the pictures can be seem there.
Do not wish to offend anyone!!

Oh I guess i need to add the pictures. Silly me

5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / First Project Post . Life by Mother Teresa>>>slightly img heavy on: June 22, 2011 09:33:47 PM
This I decided would be a great first post of mine. Its an project I did in High School for art class but it is Life by Mother Teresa. Please let me know what you think.
The background and the flower was done in water colors and then the writing was simply map color.
I just put it in that frame. Maybe I should add some paper flowers or something. I would love opinions.
