1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Stenciled shirts: Atari Boxing & Major Tom (to ground control) on: November 14, 2007 09:47:00 AM
I've found this store that sells unbelievably cheap t-shirts and tops. I've already bought a bunch of colored tees, and now I'm working on them using the old ideas I have been saving on my 'stencils' folder (:

First I made an Atari Boxing stencil over a dark green shirt:

And then a white-on-black stencil of some Bowie lyrics:

Hope you like them!

The lightness of the design is amazing Cheesy

My poor editorial-dork self is ferociously coveting it!

Thank you for all the compliments!

I did it without a pattern, only using what I remembered from a couple of tutes I found here: one for semicircle skirts and another for a pinup-esque top. I can make a fake!paint-tutorial if you want (:

It wasn't very hard to put together, because the cut is pretty simple; but it took a lot of time to fit the top - I suck at measurements and my boobs seem to get smaller each day.

Soon I'll try to make one like this (but with cute sleeves) with a red polka dot fabric from the same sale.

I found this great polka dot fabric for sale and bought enough for a dress and a top. I decided to start from the hardest - so, here is my second dress ever: a semicircle-skirt with a sweetheart'ed tubetop.

Hope you like it (:

The patter on the table cloth is gorgeous and it looks great on this dress (:

I noticed how the design of the fabric has that underbust line. That is cool the way the pattern fell there and in the tummy going to the squares for the skirt.

Thank you!

Can you believe that the underbust line got there by chance? I just cut the pieces and started to sew, wondering if the pattern wouldn't look strange when the dress was finished and voil, wonders in the craft world (:
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Polka dot skirt + Black and white dress on: September 24, 2006 09:36:02 AM

It's been a long time since I posted, but this week has been very productive and I just had to share (:

First, my mom got me this wonderful black and white patterned fabric (which she found tucked and forgotten inside an old wardrobe) and I really wanted to make a dress. I found and half-followed Roethke's wonderful tute (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=118888.0), and got this (sorry for the crappy pics, my camera's batteries are very low):

BUT, when I went out to buy the zipper (got a pack of ten, which was cheaper) for the dress, I found this gorgeous polka dot fabric on the same store. As usual, I couldn't resist.

The result is a semicircle skirt with the hugest zipper ever:

Modeled by the floor

And the obligatory action shot!

Hope you liked it and all critics and comment are welcome (:

I loved your splatter pants, they are very pretty & cool. Maybe I'll give splattering a chance too (:
