21  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Cork Darth Vader and a Mustache Man on: July 16, 2013 10:14:41 PM
I guess it's more of a keychain than a plaything, sorry if it's in the wrong board.

but anyway, I've been making gifts for my friends for graduation.

and I found this cork and thought it could use a little dark side.

and this one needed a mustache  Cheesy

feel free to tell me what you think
22  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Tardis and Ten on: July 16, 2013 09:36:28 PM
Very Cool. I love how you painted the inside, and made the Doctor to go inside. My daughter would play with this for hours. Are you going to make any more characters, like a Dalek or a Cyberman?

ohh that's a good idea, I didn't even think about that...
Guess I know what I'm doing this weekend  Wink

27  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Retro Polka Dots: Why I Don't Love Lucy on: July 22, 2012 10:01:48 AM
for starters: you're top is very cute.
and while i do think that you should have some valid points about how women were portrayed at that time. i don't think it's fair to just insult a housewife way of living. i know some stay at home mothers that are happy in their role, and some that would not be, but every realtionship is different and we should be accepting of that. on a different note, ditzy people should be able to find love too, not be considered stupid.
Don't get me wrong, i don't think an unbalanced relationship is a good idea, but i don't think that there is anything wrong with being just a little old-fashioned. just my opinion though.

I think it might be nifty if we could upload straight onto a post. maybe just have the pics be backed up in folders elsewhere.
29  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: coke can shoes! on: June 05, 2012 07:50:04 AM
What did you do to keep from cutting your fingers? Anything special? I would love to do this a pair of old heels and some grape soda cans to decorate my hallway, but am really scared of cutting myself. I had that problem when I tried to make bangle bracelets with old rootbeer cans a few years ago and have avoided working with pop cans since. Great job!

well... i didn't use anything to protect my hands  Huh i'm pretty used to dealing with sharp objects from my art class, and i would just never touch the edges. i think it helps to use an exacto knife to cut the top and bottom off, and then use a pair of scissors to cut the rough edges. i would definetly try to pattern how you're going to cover your heels so that you can just cut the pieces of can, good luck with your project! hope this helps
30  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: yet another pop tab project on: May 31, 2012 08:28:45 AM
I would think this would be hella uncomfortable. Are you able to move around in it/ sit down while wearing it?
it's actualy more comfortable than a lot of my clothes, and the chain maile set-up makes it really flexable
