1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Are you selling through your dedicated website? on: April 23, 2008 01:24:24 PM
Hey Fellow Craftpreneurs!

Are you selling through your dedicated website? If so, what shopping card merchant are you using? I want to get away from paypal and have the merchant part of my (future) ecommerce site streamlined so that the user feels they are still on  the site when purchasing (not like paypal where you get taken to an outside site to complete your transaction). Any reccommendations And how much should i expect to pay for this service?

Looking fwd to your feedback,
k.hill
2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Where do those paper racks come from??? on: September 16, 2007 08:28:57 PM
I'm looking for a place to purchase those wooden dowel racks like you'd find at the Paper Source (or any paper store) - the ones that have a ladder-like configuration similar to the old-fashioned newspaper racks at the library.  I have seen them at art supply stores including The Paper Source, but staff there are very tight-lipped as to where to get them from? Or they don't know? My online searches yield nothing even remotely close. Does anyone know where to get these or what they are formally referred to so I can do a better online search?

Many thx,
k.hill
3  Illinois / Illinois: North / HELP! Just relocated...Tell me where to go?!? on: June 14, 2007 07:50:07 PM
Hey Fellow Craftsers in the Chi-town area,

I just moved back to the Chi after 7 years in Los Angeles and need your help. Where can I go to get discount/bulk/wholesale craft supplies? I have an immediate need for those plastic rhinestones you can get at Michael's but I need them in bulk (for an order of hand-made invitations) and short on time -- like, I need to go get some 2morrow (yikes). I'm actually in the southern suburbs so if you know any places out near Country Club Hills/Chicago Heights area that would be purrfect but I'm not gonna get picky. Need to re-establish my network of bargain spots for crafts and fabrics.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Hey Guys & Gals,

I need ideas (pics pls) of how to carve a craft space out of nothing. If you've got a cool space for your craft projects, let me see! I'm trying to combine an ideal space for the following:

-sewing
-calligraphy
-illustration
-decoupage
-light construction (rehab old furniture)

and desperately need some inspiration. Don't have a dedicated craft room yet:( Thanks in advance!

5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Vintage art - Ideas Welcome! on: July 13, 2005 07:02:58 PM
Hi There,

I have some great old photos of my family that I would like to use. I want to make something relatively inexpensive  using the photos so that I can pass out as nostalgic gifts to the fam. I want the gift to be useful and not just sit on a shelf and look pretty. Any ideas?

Thanks,
k.hill

i've heard craftsters mention of a half-inch circle punch but cannot locate in any stores. i've tried michael's, scrapbooking stores, etc. to no avail. not even a successful online search. i'm reaching out to anyone who has actually purchased said item from an online store. would you be so kind as to post the link to it?

many thanks...

9  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / art deco vanity... on: March 23, 2004 07:21:27 PM
okay, so i have found the ultimate inspiration piece sitting near my dumpster yesterday!

it's an old vanity table with a cool glass mirror. looks like it was inspired by the art deco era. it's pretty scuffed up but the structure is still sound. i'm planning to sand it down and re-finish it, perhaps do something with decoupage. anyone have some cool suggestions for me? curious to know what you think... i plan to give it a funky flair:)
