11  Eric Canto-yarn.... in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Stephanie1985 on: July 14, 2011 01:20:58 AM
....or Crochet-na if you prefer! For those of you not familiar with English football (i.e soccer) Eric Cantona is a famous footballer! This was a request from my friend Tim, it was meant to be a birthday present but he ended up having it early as a kinda moving-in-to-a-new-house present instead.

I'm pretty pleased with how he came out, the hair wasn't quite right and in the end I wished I'd just changed to brown wool half-way around the head. The way I did it, it ended up taking 3 hours! But hey-ho you live and learn.

here is the back view. I used the Amigurumi Dude pattern for this one, I think if I use this pattern again I'll alter it slightly to make the head a little smaller, as I get that over-sized heads are meant to make it look more doll-like and cute but this one is just a bit too gigantic for my liking!

Thanks  Cheesy

12  Another Toothless! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Stephanie1985 on: July 14, 2011 01:13:06 AM
I saw that Loefferst had uploaded pics of their Toothless and this inspired me to upload the pictures of mine!

This one is more in a cute and cuddly style! I originally was going to give this to my boyfriend's mum for her birthday, but I have become a bit attached and so will have to make her another one! The feet and the toes were the most fun part to make, the horns were a bit fiddly to attached and I had to take them off and put them back on again a couple of times to get them at the right height and space apart as well as being level to the next side.

This is the back view, sorry it's an awful picture. It's meant to show the wings and tail but you can't really make out the tail detail (black Toothless on a black sofa!) I'll try and take a better one later.
Anyway if anyone fancies making their own cute little dragon friend, you can find the pattern here http://sarselgurumi.blogspot.com/2011/05/toothless-amigurumi-pattern.html
Thanks Smiley

13  Yoda and Obi Wan in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Stephanie1985 on: July 07, 2011 03:02:14 PM
These are by far the most complicated things I have made to date! Made them for my brother's birthday, which whenever I tell people they always say "oh that's so cute! He'll love them, how old is he?" he's 36 ;-) but he's a huge Star Wars fan and since I can't afford the Lego Death Star for him just yet he'll have to make do with these!

Patterns by Lucy Ravenscar available at her etsy shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/lucyravenscar Thanks very much for the fab patterns Lucy! Really well written and easy to follow :-)

14  Little doll for my friend Ana :-) in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Stephanie1985 on: June 24, 2011 03:13:38 PM
I made this as a birthday present for a friend of mine, it's meant to look a bit like her, and I think it does ;-)

I based it on this free pattern http://kandjdolls.blogspot.com/2010/02/pink-little-lady.html but obviously changed the colours and left off a few details to suit.

I'd upload a picture of the real Ana for comparison but I'm not sure how she'd feel about that so I'll just leave it to your imaginations!

15  Next two projects, a ninja and a seal! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Stephanie1985 on: June 06, 2011 12:31:16 AM
Ok, here are my next two attempts! I'm getting slowly better at this crochet malarky!

Firstly a little ninja I made using Emily Sheridan's pattern which is available on her etsy shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/mspremiseconclusion I'm not 100% happy with him, his mask isn't as streamlined as I would like it to be and one of his arms are bigger than the other one which makes him look like he's doing the night-fever dance! But I think he has a certain cuteness about him.

The next is this little seal, made with Amy Gaines pattern available here http://www.etsy.com/listing/62206620/sale-pdf-amigurumi-baby-seal-doll

I'm pretty pleased with him, although I had trouble with the tail! I don't own any blusher so I haven't been able to give him the rosy cheeks yet, will have to borrow some from someone at some point!

Thanks for looking guys!

16  Second amigurumi project - B+W Puppy! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Stephanie1985 on: June 03, 2011 05:16:33 AM
This is my second ever amigurumi project, I got the pattern from the book "Super-cute Crochet" by Nicki Trench which is a great book for complete novices like me!

turns out I'd been using USA DC rather than UK DC but now I have been corrected so all my projects should be made with the right stitch from now on! I've also made a tiny Ninja who I will upload later!

17  My first Amigurumi and first attempt at crochet! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Stephanie1985 on: May 30, 2011 03:10:49 AM

So I learned to crochet very basically at Guides a long long time ago, but it wasn't until I accidentally stumbled across a book on Amigurumi that I decided I just HAD to have a go at this!
So here is my first completed project

So he's a bit lumpy, and by no means perfect, and I'm not even 100% sure I've used to right kind of stitch (the USA/UK differences confuse the heck out of me! He's meant to be mostly UK DC but I'm not sure!) but I feel for a very first attempt he's not turned out too badly! Anyway the long and short of it is that I am COMPLETELY addicted, and am off to make my second one right now!
