Here is my first adult-sized blanket. I made it for my little brother's birthday. These are his favorite colors and it took me about a year to complete. I kept getting side-tracked. Happy to say that he loved it! Smiley

2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / First Quilt Finally FINISHED!! :) on: June 21, 2017 06:38:11 PM
So I have sewn and crafted for my whole life and I have made a quilt-as-you-go rag quilt; however, I have never completed a traditional quilt before....until NOW! I have been working on this quilt for over 3 years and when it came down to quilting it I tried many times and quilted parts of it 4 times and ripped it out 4 times. Then after talking with my Aunt who has made a number of beautiful quilts I discovered basting spray and my life changed. After 2 weeks the quilt is finally done and I love it. Please enjoy the pictures. My little assistant loves it too, she got so excited when I wrapped her up in it.  Cheesy

3  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Pet bed for MIL on: November 12, 2013 04:11:22 PM
Last time we took our dog with us to visit my mother in law her dog kept trying to sleep on our dog's bed. Before we adopted our cocker spaniel, I made 2 beds for him our of fleece. So, i am made her dog a bed for christmas. Here are pictures of it in progress and finished. My puppy wanted to make it his third bed.

In progress:

Bigsby made it very difficult to do this bed
Finished, and being tested by my puppy:

These are the best beds, my dog loves them (obviously). All you need is stuffing and 1 yard each of 2 fleece fabrics.

Thanks for looking. Smiley
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Christmas Stockings on: November 12, 2013 04:02:38 PM
I finally finished our family stockings. I am very proud of the outcome. I used 2 different Kwiksew patterns one for mine and my husbands and one for the bone shaped stocking. For the names I mixed Acrylic craft paint with fabric medium.

Enjoy! Smiley

Here is my kindle cover I got the pattern on etsy for like 6 dollars. She actually sent me two patterns because she was feeling generous. I love how kind most crafty people are! Smiley

I love my new kindle I got for my 21st birthday and I am quite proud of the sleeve I made to protect it. enjoy!  Cheesy

In case you were wondering i used fleece instead of batting. I really liked it a little trickier to sew but much more cost effective Smiley

I've had these shoes for over a year now and i tend to wear my shoes into the ground, literally. I was getting to the point where i thought i was gonna have to throw these babies away, and then i had a brain wave. when i was is junior high i owned a pair of multi-colored sequined flats, and i adored them. i wore them with everything. this is my homage to those flats. enjoy! i certainly enjoyed making them!
finished product:

from beginning:

I used a metallic white paint and multi-colored sequins that i bought at hobby lobby. Also, I forgot to mention how much i like bows.  Cheesy thanks again for lookin'.
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / simple elastic skirt on: June 16, 2011 08:07:00 PM
i want to start off by saying how much I love thrifting. where i live i am lucky to have so many nice places to bargain hunt. i found this fabric at one such place. it is a polyester fabric with little flower bunches on it. it is perfect for summer because is light and breezy. i love this fabric pattern because i think it looks a little like fireworks. Making the skirt was really easy i just cut two pentagons and sewed up the sides, hemmed, and added an elastic waist. the difficult part was using my machine to sew this kind of fabric, but once i got the hang of it it was fine. please excuse the photography. i was doing a lot of crafting yesterday with my "day in" and so i took these really quickly. enjoy! C&C welcome. Grin this is also my second piece of clothing that i made with out a pattern.

Thanks for lookin'. Smiley
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / green and black pinafore dress :) on: June 16, 2011 05:03:49 PM
So after a day spent browsing the many many pages of clothing I noticed a pattern. A lot of people are making pinafores, and I think they are really cute. I went to my stash and found the perfect fabric to make my own. this is my 3rd item to make without a pattern and I am really quite proud of how it turned out. C and C are welcome. Thanks for looking  Cheesy

Also, please excuse the messy sink area and the poor photos. I didn't want to wait till i could get someone else to take them. My fiancee was at work  Smiley
