Bailey just received his package from Afton, patty_o_furniture little one.

Bailey's favorite was the Fluffy shirt. He even snuggled up with it. He said, "Wow, I never thought someone would make a Fluffy shirt." That was really thoughtful. Fluffy is Bailey's companion and fidget.

And here is Fluffy's new penguin felt hat!

And, she sent an amazing I-Spy bag, a Kirby pouch, and a painted Mario keychain! I'm going to stick the I-Spy bag in the car as a great travel activity.

And, she sent an amazing Angry Birds pom pom ball plays set with a working cling shot, blocks, and foam boards! They have been playing with them together, NICELY, ever since the mail came. He got off the video game to play with this new goodies.

The container was filled with birds and goodies!

Great job Afton and Mom! You made two little boys very happy!

83  broken figures and computer parts? in What the heck can I do with THIS? by Helena Puck on: July 10, 2013 04:46:25 PM
Recently, my son's friend came over and knocked down a trinket shelf. While many of my resin pieces held up nicely, there were a few pieces that were broken beyond repair. But after seeing Franken Kitty, I can't bring myself to throw them out. What should I do with them?

Here they are:

And, my other question is what can I do with computer parts? I know there are some great jewelry pieces that can be made. I was thinking about putting them in resin or something.

Here is what I have:

Oh, I also have a music box parts too.

Bailey just received the package from Christopher. Everything is fantastic!!

They sent a beautifully made Nyan Cat Kindle case lined with Angry Bird fleece, clay creations of Kirby, Prince Fluff, and a Yoshi egg and nest inside a drawstring Angry Birds bag with the black bird front and center, a treasure hunt tube filled with goodies to find with a list of items to find, a painted wooden box embellished with superhero theme buttons and penguins and a cute Nyan Cat drawing.

I swear, Bailey squealed with delight finding the Nyan Cat at the top of the box. You both did a wonderful job incorporating all his interests in every detail.

Here is the treasure hunt tube. I'm so stealing this idea!

Here is a close up of the clay creations. I tried to take a picture of him playing with the pieces but you could not see the creations which are so nicely done and detailed.

Here is the awesome box! I love the Batman costume kid. Bailey was Batman the year before last and he's crazy for penguins.

Here is a group shot of everything. Sorry it was a little blurry. He loved everything! I did too!

Just received an amazing package from aunty.hela.

She combined all my favorite Tim Burton movies into this fantastic hoopla: Sweeney Todd, Corpse Bride, Madhatter, Nightmare Before Christmas, and Frankenweenie! It is so creative. I love the patchwork. She also sent a Jack Skellington string doll, a poptab bracelet, and a woven queen of hearts bracelet.

Here is a close up of the Madhatter patch, look at all the little details!

88  Cross Stitch Ship in a Bottle in Needlework: Completed Projects by Helena Puck on: July 01, 2013 02:49:47 PM

I just finished this little project today. Sorry about the glare. I bought the kit from Sheena Rogers Designs. The kit came with the pattern, instructions, thread, and bottle. The completed stitching is a solid rectangle that is folded and sewn into a tube then folded into the bottle. There is a ship on both sides of the bottle.

I'm so excited. It looks great on my trinket shelf.

90  Quilted zipper pouches in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Helena Puck on: June 14, 2013 08:31:55 AM
After my Bernina introductory course, I decided to make quilted zipper pouches for everyone on my Christmas list. I think I finally got it right.

Here is one I made for my sister-in-law who just had a little boy. His nursery is monkey and Safari animal themed. I used orange thread over the Monkey patterned fabric.

The only change I would make for the next one is topstitching the fabric and zipper together on the fabric instead of on top of the zipper. However, I sewed the zipper in two different places to reinforce the pouch.

I'm extremely proud of the boxed corners because it took a lot of trial and error.

My husband was thrilled that I finally used the fabric labels he got me a couple years ago.

I'm going to make more using Wizard of Oz fabric, coffee fabric, sports team fabrics, gnome fabric, and Grinch fabric. I'll probably fill the pouches with goodies.

However, I'd love the make some more masculine ones for the guys. I'm open to suggestions.

Right now, I'm just quilting with a walking foot. I haven't tried quilted blocks or piecing just yet but I hope to give it a try soon.
