1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Zombie Care Bear on: November 04, 2009 07:00:50 AM
haha, thanks!  I was hoping it would be less creepy if I made it "cartoon-y," but I think it made it even scarier!
2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Zombie Care Bear on: November 01, 2009 05:10:38 PM
This Halloween, I wanted to be something unique and at least somewhat creepy.  I think I succeeded, haha.

I made everything from scratch.  The mask was made by making a shape out of tinfoil and adding paper mache and paint.  I used white fishnet stockings for the eye holes.  The costume was made from some pink fake fur and a McCall's pattern.

I altered the pattern due to some size issues, and I added the blood and middle white patch with the brain.  I also added a tail and care bear heart to the back, but sadly I do not have a picture of that.

For the bone arm, I just used paper mache again.  The costume was so roomy that I could easily keep my other arm inside.

I tried hiding behind some bushes to scare trick-or-treaters, but when I jumped up, they were more disturbed than scared, haha.

I had a lot of fun making this costume, but it was so hot to wear!
3  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Gluten Free Alternatives Flour! on: June 26, 2009 03:55:11 AM
I made this bread a while ago, and it tasted pretty good!  It was almost a mix between regular bread and the density of a dessert bread because it was so dense, but it was cheap to make and tasted better than any premade bread I have bought!

I'm also vegan, and this recipe is vegan, too!

I can't believe I just found this now! I'm vegan and now I've recently found out I can't eat gluten. Sad I have bought the cookbook "The Gluten-Free Vegan" which I would recommend, I also bought "Babycakes" and have had lots of problems with it! I have lots of vegan cookbooks and a lot of them have gluten or wheat in them.  A couple that don't have too many are "Veganomicon" and "Vegan Planet."

I also think it would look good if you put lace in the open part of the neckline.  Or maybe more of the red the lace would be too revealing.  For the sleeves, you could take off the ones you have now and make 3/4 length ones (if you had any of the fabric remaining)?

Love them!  I especially like the one with the buttons!
