I found a black widow in my garage once.  The beaded version is so much prettier. Smiley  This is absolutely beautiful.  I especially love the web part.
4  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Alice in Wonderland on: November 07, 2011 05:31:11 PM
Thanks to a fantastic sale at Joann's I was able to make my daughter's Alice costume for less then $20! I used Simplicity Pattern 2330.  My third attempt at sewing.

5  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Dragon Costume on: November 07, 2011 05:27:05 PM
This all started because my 4 your old wanted to be a Dragon for Halloween.  Problem is, he's the size of a 6 year old (very very tall).  I couldn't find a Dragon costume in that size that I liked until I found McCall's pattern M6185.  It was perfect!  And even though I have barely sewn anything I braved it and gave it a shot.  I couldn't figure out the whole interfacing thing to save my life, but I was happy with how it turned out.

6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Menswear Headband on: November 07, 2011 05:17:46 PM
I decided to make my daughter a headband out of my hubby's old tie after I saw this tutorial: http://kimboscrafts.blogspot.com/2010/11/for-bondjames-bondwannabe.html

In stead of adding velcro to make a bow tie, I attached a small band of elastic to the ends to make it fit a little snugger on my daughter's head.  I haven't posted 10 times yet, I have to link to the pictures.

I'm making this for my son for this year.  I've been wondering what to do with that massive tail.  The ribbon idea is great.
