I think the idea of acorns is really cute. I totally think that tree seeds are a great idea, guests can save them and plant them in the Spring! I could see putting some tree seeds in tiny vellum envelopes and attaching a tiny card with a note and instructions. Another idea, if you're crafty and you have more time is making handmade paper and at the last minute embedding the tree seeds in the paper, then you can cut out hearts from the paper and attach a note explaining that all people have to do in the Spring is soak their heart in a little water and then plant it. You could say something about how love carefully tended will grow and mature through the years.

Easy does it guys! Lets make sure we say in a way that is not repellent. I agree, she's obviously too obsessed but tact is still in order.

Its a great dress. Nice work and good material.

You know you don't look fat.

87  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / How to make this and simular pillows. on: March 17, 2005 08:38:52 AM
I love the idea of this pillow with the luna moth wings peaking out like they were tucked into the edge. I think you could do simular things with other butterfly wing designs. BUT! I like to crosstitch but not this much, it would take forever, and I'm not sure I like the flat effect anyhow. I would kind of like to have the "wings" be 3D so they actually are seperate fabric tucked into the side seam. I need advice about how to create the kind of look I'm going for. Does anybody have ideas?

Sorry about not adding a picture at first. I meant to! Here is a link to it.

88  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Re: Poker Card themed room, anyone? on: March 16, 2005 12:01:45 PM
What if you take poker chips, drill holes in them and string them like a bead fringe on the bottom edge of a lampshade? You can felt the top of a table like a poker table in a casino. Maybe when you put those tea lights on the shelves they could be in little shot glasses for candle holders. And it seems that you ought to have a shamrock plant on one of your shelves (for extra luck). What about a glass topped lamp stand or coffee table with playing cards under it? Maybe you could make a clock that looks like a dealer button.(http://www.chipsandgames.com/ProductImages/misc/402.jpg) Or just frame one for the wall. Maybe you could get your hands on one of these (http://www.gamblersgeneralstore.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/t400carousel.jpg)  and turn it into a candle holder. I think that would be sweet!

Hey ladies! Saturday at 3 or 4 works for me but late morning is better (i.e. 10 or 11). But if that's an issue please don't quibble.. Lets just nail it down.

Hey all,
Mind if I horn in on this get-together? I'm really interested too. I cross-stitch, embroider, crochet and knit (a little), sew, draw and will tray anything else I'm taught. I live  in Creston area, right off of Plainfield.
