Love the monogram Erin!

Challenge: quidditch match 2: Patagonia proudsticks
House: ravenclaw
Project: fruit crumble
I had crumble mix left over from Sunday, so chopped 3 apples, 4 pears and a tin of peach slices into a baking tray, tipped with crumble, added cinnamon and nutmeg to the top - baked for 50 mins at gas mark 7, and served with soya cream Smiley
Crumble is a traditional brit dish, popular in the war particularly because it only used a small amount of rationed goods - the fruit could be home grown, and it is good for using up bruised or left over fruit

Challenge: Quidditch 4: puddlemere United
Spew: knit for peace
House: ravenclaw
Project: lapgan
I'm actually pleased with how this came out; as I was sewing up I thought it was too hodge-podge but in the end I think it worked ok. So many ends to weave in!! uck! Knit for peace will redistribute it according to need, e.g. to refugee centres as a baby blanket or old folks homes as a lapgan. I hope it lets someone know they are cared for.

Challenge: just Spew
Spew: knit for peace
House: ravenclaw
Project: swatch blanket kit
I will also be sending a few unused squares, some matching weight yarn, spare needles and a stitch dictionary as knit for peace also run knitting workshops/ classes, and I recently saw a plea on their Facebook page for more supplies to use in one women's centre at a refugee camp as the women can sell their knits to help feed their families.
I know I already submitted these 3 squares, I'm not trying to pull a fast one! But I didn't claim SPEW on them so I'm doing it on this blanket kit instead.

I'm so sorry about your nanna-in-law, Tiamatfire. The sheep is really cute, even if it isn't what you were expecting! But, generous as it is, I'm afraid it isn't SPEW. We tend to exclude gifts to friends/family members from SPEW because, frankly, crafters are always making stuff for people, and SPEW is about encouraging us to move a step beyond our immediate circle in that.
Oh - and I love the idea of that painted rock hiding scheme!

Moonflame, i love how much detail you guys put into your doll set ups - those tiny ugg boots are adorable

Gaudi, that's such a sweet baby present, the stitch Patten is beautiful

ABS fab painting!

Middkiffsjoy - you are so needlessly hard on yourself! The dress shaping looks great Smiley

Challenge: ironchef June
House: ravenclaw
Project: Apple and rhubarb crumble
Method:
Grease a baking dish
Core and thinly slice 6 apples, lay them in the dish and layer a tin of drained rhubarb on top (tbh fresh would be a lot nicer but I couldn't get any. If you use fresh you'll need to add sugar too)
Mix up a crumble (100g flour, 100g sugar, 75g butter (vegan butter in my case), pinch of cinnamon, pinch of nutmeg) and crumb it.
Add crumble to top of fruit
Cook at gas mark 7 for about 40 mins
Serve with soya custard

I suck at taking food photos

Challenge: Quidditch pride of portree (match 6)
House: ravenclaw
Project: repaint box
Sorting stuff out to move, I no longer needed this box that I had potter'ed up a few years ago - it was too big for me, plus had gone a bit discolored. But, it seemed a waste to throw away, yet I didn't really think a charity shop would want it... Then my colleague twisted her ankle badly and was in need of a care parcel full of stuff to keep her busy while she rests up (she'll be on crutches for a couple of weeks). So I painted the box up with splashes of purple, blue and red, and we at work filled it with treats!

Challenge: quidditch moutohora macaws match 7
House: ravenclaw
Project: dyed pages
I had mixed up more paint than I used on the box, so rather than waste it I dyed up some paper for future crafting. I used pages from an old potter book, which made its way into my craft supply a few years ago after being so heavily read it was missing pages (I used to volunteer in a charity shop and would occasionally nab unsellable donations to use for crafting instead)

Magpirate, please don't worry about your projects being similar to each other - most of us have done preferred craft that we make over and over again! I hope you can pull out of your funk - that's certainly a feeling I can empathise with, and it's not much fun. Maybe try making small, fun things for yourself or that you will see a lot, so that you're getting lots of visability (to yourself) for your achievement.

Challenge: quidditch holyhead harpies (match 16)
House: ravenclaw
Project: sketchbook
I made this for a friend's birthday. It's a place for her to make/plan/keep her art, inspired by her - fun and bright and bold, not too fussy!
I don't really know Susie too well, I met her when I started my new job, but I really like her - She's one of those happily confident, creative, warm people that draws others to her. I feel lucky that I can start to consider her my friend.

Challenge: quidditch Tutshill tornadoes (match 13)
House: ravenclaw
Project: JP gift tag / card
I realised the day before that Susie's birthday was also JP's (another colleague) birthday. Oops! A few of us in the department managed to get a jar of his favorite sweets delivered same day (a real team effort - one person found them, someone else ran around collecting money, someone else used their Amazon prime...) and I whipped up a quick card-come-gift-tag... it's basically 3 circles (two for the card, one to decorate), glued together, then cut another circle to hang and add stickers, and get everyone to sign)

That looks like a rocking swap parcel - I love the quill and the pen stand (what does the Latin mean?). It looks really nicely themed together too with the colour scheme

My parcel from fiberalchemist arrived and I'm thrilled! I am moving in with my partner later this year, and mentioned that I was especially looking forward to being about to have good kitchen things, since I've always lived with housemates and anything nice gets ruined or "borrowed"! Since my new place will be small (it's a narrowboat!) I also will only really have space for practical things, and fiber really took that on board and has decked out my kitchen to be with a bevy of beautiful, useful items...

A pair of trivets (mats for hot pans etc) - though actually these are so beautiful I might use them as place settings instead! I love all the different fabrics (fiber, I don't think my pic does them justice so if you have a better one to share please do)

A set of crochet dishcloths, which I am so thrilled with. I'm really keen to have as few 'disposable' items in the new place as possible, so am really pleased to have these in place of j-cloths

A set of applique teatowels - I love the contrast between the texture of the towel and the applique, and the way the motifs are designed

Fiber also sent some vegan yarn - I try to keep a vegan diet, but haven't been able to wean myself off of animal based craft supplies so I'm pleased to get such a colourful encouragement!

My partner and I have been jokingly calling the swap parcel box my hope chest! I know we're both really thankful to have such lovely things to bring into our new home

It's a good job your daughter is such a cutie pie,  kiurious, otherwise I'd be round like a shot to try to steal that unicorn!

OWL submission!

Subject: Divination option 1
House: ravenclaw
Project: swap package for FibreAlchemist
So, once I decided what I was going to make for this swap I proposed an owl by PM to Jennie and Abbee Smiley
This OWL is 4 items for reading: a kindle / iPad cosy, 2 bookmarks and a book

The kindle case is quilt-as-you-go hexie-nuts, I really enjoyed making it, there's something really satisfying to have these little self contained hexies to play with!

The bookmarks are made from pages that feel out of a ruined copy of Beedle the Bard
