1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: My first shorts! on: April 23, 2013 08:40:35 AM
Oh gosh yes, the shorts season here is limited to about... An afternoon in July if it's a leap year, the moon phase is right and it's not too windy.  Tongue Gotta be prepared! Just make sure the lace is a little stretchy to accomodate sitting. This is a cotton lace, but it's loose enough that it stretches a wee bit when I move.
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / My first shorts! on: April 23, 2013 07:33:38 AM
I ripped my pants, it was sad.  Cry

And it was a liiiiiiiittle bit too high up for any sort of modesty. So what's a girl to do? It'd be a shame to throw them out, finding a new pair that fits is such a chore. Enter the lace ruffle, mohahahaha! A snip here, a zigzag there and presto!

(Sorry about the crappy cell phone picture folks, it's the only working camera I have atm.  Undecided )

Now I should have used a thread that matched the pants better and lined up the lace more carefully, but the store is too far away and I know I'll just forget if I leave the project lying around. I'm happy, the shorts are awesome and that's what matters. ^^ Much love, y'all!

3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: SMILE! Tin Grin, Brace Face..... on: April 12, 2013 12:46:06 PM
Speaking from my experience with braces, I'm thinking a smoothie bottle with a straw or soft snacks. Oof, those babies are SORE the first weeks!
4  FIBER ARTS / Weaving: Completed Projects / Re: Tablet weaving , an epic story on: April 12, 2013 12:41:31 PM
I'm so confused. How do you make such awesomeness?! *sneaks off to google, muttering about playing cards and looming*
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Crochet nipple pasties ;) on: April 07, 2013 07:54:48 AM
kyaaaa, they're so adorable! I don't think I've ever thought of ways to incorporate nipple pasties in my wardrobe before. Hmm, worrying... Grin
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Knitting needle holder on: April 07, 2013 06:13:23 AM
Ooh, I love the little extra pocket, so handy! The work itself looks very pretty, but it's those little extra details that make it awesome.
7  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Princess cake on: April 07, 2013 05:02:15 AM
Thank you guys, you're too sweet! (in a cooking forum, maybe that's not so strange...) It's my first time making gluten free sponge, but surprisingly it tasted pretty much like the real deal.
8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: Floppy disk coaster on: March 27, 2013 10:52:40 AM
:O I covet this. So much. Must have the beads now...
9  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: Advertisement in the craft world on: March 26, 2013 02:39:23 PM
What about trying to get featured on another crafting blog or channel? Blog post exchange, sending in a tutorial video, networking with other crafters on facebook and forums... Unless you have a fairly large budget, I think networking is the way to go.
10  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: Paper flowers on: March 24, 2013 09:07:17 AM
What about encasing them in something like this?

Or there's stabilizing with something like decoupage glue or lacquer. A paper flower bib necklace would be super chic, they look so delicate!
