1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Rose and Star *With Tutorial* on: July 09, 2011 09:21:47 PM
I modified this pattern: http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/80214AD.html?noImages= from Lion Brand for the rose. The granny square star is just fooling around. I have no idea what I'll do with either one, but the flower may become a corsage eventually.

Updated with tutorial for the rose:
It's really easy!
I used one color. And one row. Use any hook and yarn type that strikes your fancy.

Chain 40 or however large you want the rose to be.
Row 1: 3 hdc in 3rd ch from hook, 4 dc in next ch, 5 dc in next ch, 3 tr in each ch to the end.
Fasten off.
Coil Flower into a spiral. Sew across base to secure. Weave in ends.
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Laptop Cozy on: July 09, 2011 09:14:32 PM
I started a laptop cozy because I needed something lightweight and bright. I chose a granny line (straight granny square?). Went around the length it needed to be, and then joined it in a circle to make the whole project more stable. I love it! Comments welcome!
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Barbie Mint Green Dress with Pattern on: June 22, 2011 03:23:58 AM
Sorry about the .com reference on my earlier photos! I'm being careful to share with this community as much as they've shared with me! To say thank you, I'd like to post this pattern.

I was home on a visit with my Mom when we lost power off and on for two weeks due to freak tornado weather. With no internet, phone (cell reception died long before my phone did), television or new books to read, I turned to crochet. I was looking for Barbie patterns, but came across a lot of outdated patterns that had Barbie's old measurements. So I took three patterns from my grandmother's old books and created this little number. Feel free to recreate. You're welcome to sell any items from the pattern, but please give credit back to The Crafty Ginger when you do. It's a basic dress, and I'm a tight stitcher so your mileage may vary. Let me know what you think!

Posted from my website:

Row 30-End Continue pattern of *ch 3, sc in next 3 ch space until skirt reaches length desired. Tie off. And weave in strings.

To finish off the dress, sew velcro to the back.

What I would have done differently:

I would have made the dress a little longer. I also didnt have enough time to finish underclothes for the poor lady before I headed back to Alaska.

Keep crafting!

4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crochet Angel for my Mom on: June 21, 2011 12:35:13 AM
My Mom is going in for surgery soon. She loves angels and the color green, so I thought I'd whip her up a little something to help make her smile. Sorry for the crochet frenzy, but I just got my photo editing software in and I'm still learning the ropes. Comments welcome!

5  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Sack Person for CBSOP's Father's Day Celebration on: June 21, 2011 12:14:11 AM
So my husband is awesome. He makes some of the best food evah, and I love giving him surprises on his special days. Father's Day was pretty important this year, because last year I was deployed through anniversaries, birthdays, father's day, and all other major holidays so I missed seeing his face when he got one of my crafted goodies.

As a family we recently discovered the magic of Little Big Planet. I adore the game and so does the rest of the family. Jerry took so much pride in building his sackboy that I just had to make it for him. Smiley Pattern is in development. I took bits and pieces from other projects I'd done before. A couple of people definitely helped with the head. The fingers have wrapped wire so they're pose-able.

I hope you enjoy!
