This looks beautiful! and so very cool. I love all the hand stitches and details you put into the garment.

I want to try out putting grommets etc into canvas/denim. But it has always been my experience they always come out weird. you did a fantastic job!

Hiya everyone, its been a while since I posted stuff I have made.

Last month I went to a charity Ball, and the theme was Venetian Carnival.  I referenced heavily on the Pattern M6097, but altered extensively to fit my body shape and height.  It was alot of fun, and I can't wait til next year.

I also made the head piece, necklace, earrings, fashioned rings from glass buttons. Wink it was very fun to show off my work in such an elaborate fashion. I think this is the most excessively decorated garment I have ever worked on. And I didn't even add a lot of beads to it. Wink may be I should!

Holy cow you two are cute!!

Terrific job on the costumes!  I desperately want to do a Starbuck for Halloween, any tips or resources you could share?

Oh thanks and yes!

I have a lessons learned log of best pratices. It was truly a learning expereince to make the 4 patterns for the his and her set. I will copy and paste from my blog when I get home tonight.

I purchased the now discontinued buttons from a friend. I can give you his contact if you PM me.
The patches and pins I purchased from amazon.com

I did a lot of research on the pipings and pins, I couldn't believe the level of sophication that went into the show.

Last year, the EMP-Scifi museum here in Seattle hosted an BSG exhibit featuring full size raptors and cyclone spaceships. My husband and I dressed up for the opening day!
I - being Asian is #8/Sharon/Athena, my husband is then Helo. Wink

I am a new member, so I cant post any pictures yet. But I am eager to share this with you all. Wink

More pics here on my blog!

I used a bottom weight Twill /denim and loads of piping, I also specially ordered the original buttons and officer rank pins.  I know there are BSG fans out there, and I would love to hear and see your sets!

So say we all!

hello! I am new to the community. Wink

I made this dress a few years ago for a contest. It is not a easy dress to make - definitely not half day project. Wink  I'd made heavy non-design related alternations to make it fit my shape, but boy those bias binding sure drove me crazy. Wink Specially I used a 1/4" binding instead of the 5/8", and my dress was fully lined.

you can check out my blog post about it if you like.

Anyways, I am happy to finally become a official member. Wink
