2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Embellished Lion Jacket with Adinkra Symbols on: February 28, 2009 02:21:31 PM
I made this jacket a long time ago... and never got around to posting it.

I cut out the lion image from a shirt I bought at farmers market, and attached it to the jacket using fusible interfacing and hand sewing, then I sewed the cowrie shells on. Finally I made the Adinkra symbol patches from some scraps from an old tote bag and the rest of the lion shirt. BTW that weird shiny line on the lions face is not noticeable in real life.

3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Prescription Drug Halloween Costume on: October 14, 2008 08:11:27 PM
So I been like racking my brains trying to figure out what I should be for Halloween and time is running out !!! Here's a list of my ideas http://rhymeswithzavi.blogspot.com/2008/10/halloween-costume-ideas-for-african.html, and here are my old costumes http://rhymeswithzavi.blogspot.com/2008/08/halloween-planning.html http://rhymeswithzavi.blogspot.com/2007/11/hallowen-if-shoe-fitsjust-wear-it.html.

But I think I settled on being A PRESCRIPTION DRUG, I am going to make like a tube out of orange poster board and add shoulder straps so I could wear it like a sandwich board, then I would make pills out of paper and glue them around the tube like the bottle is half full, then I would put orange cellophane over it so it looked see through, then I would put a big label on it with lots of crazy warnings and such, and I would top it off with a flat white hat they said like push and turn on top.

Is this too much ?

I was brainstorming what drug to be originally I thought Prozac, but I think Zoloft or Vicodin would be cool to .I don't know what kind of party I am going to, If I went to an adult party I was thinking Viagra, but that might be too racy, and for a kid's party I would be Ritalin... maybe I can make an interchangeable label.

Also I was thinking of wearing all orange ,like stockings, tank top ,shoes, but I am not sure about makeup ,should I make myself look drugged up like I am high or experiencing the side effects ?

I read every post ! I have a questions still ! I want to use an image/slogan from a political campaign button from 1972 to make a patch for a jean jacket, the candidate is dead  Undecided, and I can not find the name of the designer of the button, what should I do ?

90% paper costume (poster board) except for the felt on the black Zebra Stripes, and the shoe strings. https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=204454.msg2181602
I have white Barbie sneaker earrings, shoe strings braided into my hair with pink barbie sneakers at the end, and a pink swoosh on my face.

Made from painted poster board and felt for the stripes, such a PAIN, it was inspired by this shoe and I used this as a visual patternhttp://www.govacant.com/af1template.pdf

its a giant replica of a Nike shoe box ,it was a plain box that I did surgery on and painted, thats a real nike shoe box on top of it

almost finished

the words are all gloopy and stupid because my white paint was all dried out.

test drive

OMG  Shocked HIM is the scariest thing I ever saw in a cartoon , like everytime I see HIM, I am speechless for at least 30 mins. The music the way the background changes his VOICE.... basically the best villain ever, I love your costume
