1  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / My first Tudor on: February 06, 2012 11:07:58 AM
This was the first official gown I made for SCA events. I'm not wearing the proper foundation garments, so it doesn't fall exactly right, but I think it looks pretty good.

Sorry for the blurry pic- this really doesn't do the sleeves justice. They are lined in fur up to the elbow- next time I'm going to attach a button or something, so they stay turned up!

2  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Semi-period appropriate cover for my short hair? on: July 04, 2011 08:00:15 PM
I'm going to my first SCA event this weekend and am trying to find a something easy to make to cover my really short hair that matches my outfit. I was hoping you guys would have some suggestions? I don't have a lot of time left, but if it's simple I think I can whip it together. For garb I'm wearing this, more or less:

3  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Gluten-free, milk-free birthday dessert? on: May 22, 2011 09:43:51 AM
So, my birthday is coming up, and I'm hoping to bring some dessert to SCA fighter practice with me. The thing is that there are a lot of allergies in our group, including milk and gluten intolerance.

Usually, baking is my thing, but I really can't think of anything off of the top of my head that fits those two criterion. Right now, it seems like my only option might be a fruit bouquet.

Any other ideas?
