1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Crafty Teen "support group"? :) on: April 10, 2011 10:05:49 PM
Hello! I am interested in starting a "teen help" business community. My idea is a place (online) where teens and 20somethings can go to give/get business advice, ask questions, and just have other people to relate to. Anyone else interested?
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Mega Crayon in a recycled deodorant container.... on: April 08, 2011 09:33:57 PM
I LOVE this! Can't wait until my daughter is big enough to enjoy coloring Smiley things like this just always seem so fun.
3  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Blue paper? on: April 07, 2011 07:25:40 PM
I work at an animal clinic and have to cut of cotton into 4" squares...well in these rolls of cotton are 12" wide x 12' long strips of blue paper. Its the thickness of printer paper but looks like blue construction paper. It almost feels like wax paper, not as thick but its definitely covered with something. I had thought about spinning it into "yarn" and making crochet bags since it seems like its pretty durable....does anyone have any other ideas? Its really neat stuff and I don't just want to throw it away...especially since we cut at least 6 rolls of the stuff a day.
4  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: The New Spinners Thread on: April 05, 2011 10:28:52 AM
Oh my goodness how perfect!   Grin I am SO excited now! Tomorrow I am off to the hardware store to see what I can find to make my own drop spindle Smiley now to figure out what for fiber...thanks so much!
5  UNITED STATES / Indiana / Michiana Area? on: April 05, 2011 10:20:20 AM
Are any of you fellow craftsters from the Michiana area? I am from Goshen and would love to get to know some of my crafty "neighbors" better. Smiley Eventually I would like to start a group of some sort, mostly because I am the only crafter I know! Sad haha anyway how about you just tell a bit about yourself and what you like to do as far as crafting? Smiley

I am 18 and I have daughter. I love to crochet, knit (sorta), cross stitch, im a wiz with a hot glue gun and duct tape, I quilt, sew a bit, and am really intrigued by spinning. Smiley

Hope to hear from you soon!
6  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: The New Spinners Thread on: April 05, 2011 08:26:41 AM
Ooooh! I only wish this was my new obsession! I really want to try spinning but I have no idea where to start...I know they have "beginner kits" but I got one of those for knitting and it was a disaster. I ended up having to have a friend of mine help me. Sadly no one I know spins. Sad I started looking at information online but my brain just went on overload.
7  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Discussion and Questions / ideas and help for a baby girls scrapbook??? on: March 27, 2011 05:05:25 PM
I am new here and absolutely love what I have seen so far!  Smiley But, like so many other newbies, I need help!
My daugher is 7 months old and I am so excited/dreading starting her scrapbook. I have an adorable book picked out already and tons of pictures, but other then that I don't know where to start! What supplies should I get or not get? I have a very limited budget but a lot of time, patience, and craftiness Smiley any ideas, help, and guidance would be great!

We found this really cute woodland critters book and I just HAD to buy it! Our family is really big into the outdoors and I just felt like it was so perfectly girly Smiley I don't really want it to be a "pretty princess" type book.
