61  Re: Owl Swap! Gallery in The Swap Gallery by rubylynns on: July 16, 2011 09:58:12 AM
turbotinks opened her package last night in her hospital bed! She's home now and feeling better but she asked me to post the pictures.
First up everything all together!

This is my goofy little owl, this is the first stuffie I've made and hes a little off but I love him! My son named him hide n seek

A little needle book.

A little bag to match

And last but not least a matching set of owl napkins! I hated to part with these.

Feel better soon and I hoped you loved everything!

62  Boys Shorts in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by rubylynns on: July 05, 2011 07:39:04 PM
I am so proud of myself I made a pair of shorts for my son.  This is my first venture into sewing clothes.  I made them out of seersucker from Jo-Anns and used this pattern http://www.dana-made-it.com/2008/07/tutorial-and-pattern-kid-pants.html and this http://www.dana-made-it.com/2011/05/kid-shorts-free-pattern-and-tutorial.html I didn't do the flat front shorts tho.  I made the length just to the bottom of the second page. They fit pretty well.
The inseam is a little messed up but for my first attempt I am very happy with them! My son also loves them so its all good.  We are going to take them to the beach with us!

Heres the pic.  I tried to get a better on but he wasn't in the picture taking mood.  I will take a pic of them off once they are washed, we got some mac and cheese on them lol.

63  Beach Pin-Up's in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by rubylynns on: June 20, 2011 10:48:31 AM
I made this as a thank you for my step brother for letting us use his beach house! I think I am going to turn it into a pillow in a few weeks.  I wanted to get the stitching all done so I could start on so swap crafts! Here's pics of the girls.  I think this turned out so cute I just love it! I almost want to keep it!  I wish I would have made this skin out lining a darker shade.  I don't know if it pop's enough.  I am still new at this so I welcome all comments and criticism!

65  T-Shirt Pillow in Needlework: Completed Projects by rubylynns on: April 01, 2011 06:32:56 AM
Ok so I just started to embroider a few weeks ago.  I knew how to sew and I have had a machine for years, but for the most part it sat and gathered dust. When I started embroidering, it inspired me to do other things too.  I made this pillow for my son.  This was his favorite t-shirt and it was to small so I turned it into a pillow!

I hooped the top and back stitched a space fabric into the collar, he loves earth so i made sure that it centered.

The back is a Sublime Stitching pattern and completely back stitched.  My son has a love of all things space so he loves this.

Thanks for looking and I would love feedback, comment or criticism.  I'm still learning so I welcome all of it!

This is the first project I've completed.  I've only been stitching for about 3 weeks and I love it! Its for a friends baby shower next week.  I need to work on the spacing of my wording.  All in all I'm very happy with it!
