hi everyone i have a question: you have 8 stitches on a needles the instructions call for you to
 knit 3 stitches,
knit through back of loop
knit 4 stitches
I knit the 3 stitches then i use another stitch to do the yarn over, another to knit into the back of a stitch and one more to do another yarn over, that only leaves me 2 stitches when i need 4 to knit the last 4 stithes, what am i doing wrong can anyone tell me? (i hope i'm not being to confusing)

I'm totally lost, do the yarn overs and the knit in the back, take up 3 stitches?, because i keep running out of stitches, could anyone explain this to me. Do i yarn over then slip the stitch back 2 the other needle and knit into the back of that stitch? I hope i'm not being to confusing.
