1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Re:Big Wall II [ lots of pics!] on: January 21, 2004 08:44:46 AM
What would happen if you paint? Would you lose your deposit? I read once that if you plan to stay in a place more than 2 yrs- to go ahead and paint, you'll lose your deposit but wouldn't it be worth it to have walls the color you like?
Another suggestion; Cut a piece of thin plywood (or something) to the exact dimension of that big empty space over your door, paint IT the color you want, then hang above the door Smiley
2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re:Questions about websites/web hosting/etc. on: January 13, 2004 01:01:02 PM
I have used avidhosting.com. Cheap, reliable, great support, and their servers are the best Smiley

How did you guys get it to not smear? I tried it ModPodge and it smeared like crazy!
I just bought a can of spray "fixative" that says it can be used on inks and such, hopefully it'll work!
6  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re:Sewing Machine patterns - are they re-usable? on: January 12, 2004 07:05:57 AM
I was thinking about this just this morning (am I psychic or what  Shocked
I thought it'd be interesting to use patterns for decoupage projects...has anyone tried this?
7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Problem cutting glass! on: January 12, 2004 06:52:10 AM
I'm having problems trying to cut glass- it's thin picture-frame glass, and I'm using a regular wheeled glass cutter, but no matter how hard or lightly I score, it doesn't do anything to the glass except leave oil on it. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance!
8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Turn Your Handwriting into a Font on: January 09, 2004 05:29:40 PM

Requires a paint program and knowing how to change a .jpg to a .gif

Just be careful and line up the template properly...I keep getting, "Your template's crooked, stupid" errors when submitting my handwriting file. They don't hip you on which way to straighten it, though, and after re-positioning the dern thing 3 times to no avail I gave up  Cry

I really wanted one of those *sniffles*

Hey Lex, Julie, and anyone else folowing along Cheesy

So sorry to hear about your illness, Lex...I hope you're hanging in there okay Smiley *pats on the shoulder*

Sure wish we had a chatroom in this joint Angry ...I hate the IM's and it's more fun when you have everybody yakking all at once. And we could all be patting each other's back in real time! If this subject has been discussed in the past, please forgive me, for I am new, dammit Grin

Anyway...Julie~ Hi!  Yep, we're heading to MD, don't know for sure where yet- I want a "regular" house, not a townhouse or apartment for a change, and they're hard to come by in your state. We've kinda narrowed our search down to the Brunswick area...are you around there?
