1  Davesprite, USBkind, and Slenderman (IMAGE HEAVY!) in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by thegirlwhoflies on: August 23, 2012 02:01:32 PM
So the Homestuck hiatus is killing me, I found a really cheap 4gig flashdrive at Staples and apparently slenderman is coming back. I have lost way too much sleep over both Homestuck and Marble Hornets so I did what every fangirl would do.

First I made a Davesprite all up and ready for battle.

He's a cutie~

And a back view (One of the wings bubbled up because I wasn't watching the oven >_<)

Then came Slendy who originally was a present for a friend and then I decided on better one.

His hands and feet glow in the dark which may be cool or terrifying, I'm not too sure... but this is the only good pic.

And while shopping for school supplies, I picked up a ridiculously tiny 4 gig flashdrive for $4 and sculpted this:

Which I did like this:

2  A touch of SCIENCE (image heavy) in Needlework: Completed Projects by thegirlwhoflies on: June 22, 2012 02:54:47 PM
Well, school is finally out so I got a chance to finish these two projects I started in October. Wow, it's been a long time... They're pretty much my first time doing much in the way of embroidery and as always any constructive comments are wonderful.

The first one is my artistic rendering of E. coli transformations because that is my favorite experiment of all time and I needed a chance to do something to impress my teacher. There's a bit of the piece that glows in the dark but I have no idea how to photograph it so just take my word for it.

And a bit of detail:

Then there's the pretty rainbow octopus, no hardcore science story behind it, just some pretty lines. I'm so proud of it though, I did a quick sketch of the outline but other than that it's all freehand. Also it's some what of a sampler because each tentacle showcases a different stitch or variation. But enough about that, here is the product of 10 hours of stitching frenzy.

Nice clean lines <3

And the details!

Octopuses have three hearts, I think that's pretty cool. Sorry that this is more picture than text but I hoped you enjoyed this!
Edit (7/29/12): ^_^ I'm so happy I placed first in my category in the county fair with my octopus!

3  An old teapot in Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects by thegirlwhoflies on: January 21, 2012 10:28:54 AM
I started doing pottery a few years back and I really haven't dome much recently but here's a tea pot that I made. I have no idea what I was doing with that weird geometric pattern...

The good thing is I won a young artist competition with it so I guess it's not that bad...

4  Lemonsnout (image heavy) in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by thegirlwhoflies on: January 21, 2012 10:17:08 AM
For a friend's birthday she wanted something Homestuck related so I made her her own Senator Lemonsnout.

Oh, Homestuck...

5  Cuttlefish in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by thegirlwhoflies on: December 30, 2011 06:50:29 PM
Here it goes...
I bought some nice sale yarn at Rhinebeck hoping to make a cuttlefish and it's finally done. It's silk so he's super cuddly and the perfect size for tucking in between my covers at night (don't judge, I still sleep with stuffed animals :B). The only thing is I'm not too sure if I want eyes on it or not so it could be a work in progress but right now it's finished.

6  SPAAAAACE~ in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by thegirlwhoflies on: November 21, 2011 08:23:03 PM
Hi there,

I know you guys like the geekery. Last week I made the space core from Portal 2 as a present for a friend. It's original Sculpey painted with acrylics. Pretty cute, huh?

bit of the side,

ans a pretty bad view of the back.

And then there's everyone's favorite weighted companion cube looking darling on my desk.
It's Sculpey III and a bit of acrylic paint to make the (not so visible scorch marks).

7  Keyboard Ring in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by thegirlwhoflies on: May 12, 2011 06:39:52 PM
There was a large dumpster full of computers and computer accessories waiting to be recycled so I "liberated" a few keys to make this marvelous ring! (the rest went into a bracelet for my sister) It's pretty much just a wire ring, epoxy and a key.

8  Lemur Plush in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by thegirlwhoflies on: May 12, 2011 06:33:35 PM
I'm obsessed with the webcomic Dresden Codek at the moment so I decided to make the plush lemur from the Lantern Season strip. I'm not thrilled about the way it came out but I winged it on the pattern and finished it in a few hours so I think it's just fine.

Comments and advice are more than welcome!

9  confetti resistor bracelet in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by thegirlwhoflies on: March 20, 2011 11:31:07 AM
This is my first time posting so any and all comments are appreciated!

About 5 hours. It's tedious work trying to get all those beads on.
