1  I made my own cheese! (with tutorial link) in Recipes and Cooking Tips by tinydoom on: March 27, 2013 12:18:45 PM
It's easier than you might think...I know I was a bit nervous going into it.  Something about pouring vinegar into milk is very unsettling, but the result was tasty and I will definitely do this again!

8 cups whole milk
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1-1.5 teaspoon kosher salt

fine mesh seive
clean kitchen towel
cheese press- I improvised and used a bowl, you can too

For more info, pictures and directions see the tutorial here: http://ladiesofcomicazi.com/2013/03/27/how-to-i-made-cheese-gromit/

2  Super Hero Snow Globes (with tutorial link) in Completed Projects by tinydoom on: December 26, 2012 06:13:22 AM
I'm going to straight up say, that this project has very quickly become a favorite.  In fact...some of the globes that were meant for gifts, may or may not be scattered around my home and office.  I just couldn't help myself!

This was a fairly inexpensive project.  Jars were collected (this was a great excuse to eat those last few teaspoons of jam or honey).  The only costs were liquid glycerin, glitter the figures and the tiles we used to raise the figures. For figures we largely used Hero Clix and Lego mini-figures, but I also grabbed one of those "Toobz" of plastic figures you see at Michael's.  It was mythological creatures and really came in handy.

Tiny Dazzler in a spice jar:

A pirate and a mermaid in a mustard jar:

Iceman vs. Icicle in a jam jar:

And my Absolute favorite- Iron Man with Tree in a Goya honey jar:

More info, pics and a tutorial (with a bonus ornament project) can be found here:

4  Harry Potter-Order of the Phoenix zippy in Stenciling: Completed Projects by tinydoom on: February 11, 2006 07:38:18 PM
This is going to be a big Harry Potter month for me....going to a Harry and the Potters show, and then throwing my sister a HP themed B-day party.  I decided I needed something to wear to both these events.  I think it came out pretty well.

Here is my amazing package from ctgirl.  I can't say enough how cool all this stuff is.  I've been flouncing around in the shirt since I got it!

The pic is a bit blurry, bet here is a super cool tote bag with the BDH's on it, it has a pocket inside and velcro closure.  I also got some delicious smelling jasmine tea and and jasmine insence (to scent my shuttle with), a calendar celebrating this year (year of the dog), a little budda, some fortune cokies, a little hanging charm and some really cool dragon stickers....And now for the amazing shirt...

Thank you so much RUTH!!!!!  My package is taking FOREVER to get to you, but I hope you like it.  After seeing your stuff, I have total swap anxiety.

10  Re: Bead Swap Round 2 in The Swap Gallery by tinydoom on: April 14, 2005 03:54:41 PM
Here are my awesome beads from Justlease. The pictures is kinda crumby, but they are carnelian (one of my favorites!) and unakite.  And they came in a beautiful, oh so soft and fluffy white handspun angora pouch that Justlease made.  Sorry the picture does not show the detail of the pouch.  Thanks so much lease!!!  This was a great swap!

I forgot to take a picture of the clasp that was also included...So sorry justlease!
