21  Re: Little Visitor 15 Gallery - Spring Festivities and Summer Blast in The Swap Gallery by MeganCrafts on: May 20, 2012 07:51:16 PM
I'm a week behind, so I have a lot of pictures to post.

First, the pictures from last weekend at the Greek Food Festival.

We had lunch and desserts.

Then we went for a walk in the park.  I love that you can walk for 5 minutes and go from the middle of the city to the middle of the woods.

This weekend my OH was asked to take some pictures at a Lolita meetup.  He made friends with some of the girls while we were at the local anime convention in March.  I even made her an outfit for the occasion.

The girls loved her.

Afterwards we went and got lunch.

Here's the amazing package that I received from Abbeeroad.  I love it.

R2 necklace.  The red bead is perfect.

Star Wars/Dr. Who mash up felt badge.  I would've never thought of this, but it's so amazing.  I freaked out a bit when I took it out of the box.

And my favorite part of the package: Chewie!  He's so cute.  I squeed when I saw him.  I thought it was appropriate to take his picture with my SW skirt as the backdrop (mostly because he's slightly too big for our light box).

Thank you so much Abbeeroad!!

I'm a bit behind, but here are the awesome badges that camelama sent me.  As she said, we decided to do a side swap for extra badges.  We're partnered up for the Little Visitor swap, so I get the feeling that we're both going to end up with more of these when we send our visitors home.  Grin

These right off a poster from my pinterest.  I love them all so much, so it's hard to pick a favorite, but Sweetums may be just a nose ahead of the others.

I finally have some pictures of Lulu!  The bunch from our first outing are trapped on my dead computer, so we'll have to go back up to that part of town and redo them.

Last Saturday, the OH and I took Lulu to downtown Pittsburgh to show her around.  It was the day before the Pittsburgh marathon and graduation day for one of the colleges down there, so it was a bit crazy out.  It was also free comic book day, so we checked out a comic book store that we hadn't been to before, as well as checking out the Toonseum (http://www.toonseum.org/).

We also spent at least an hour or so just wandering around and we found a few cool signs.

Lulu and I hung out across one of the rivers from PNC Park, home of the Pittsburgh Pirates.  I'm not a baseball fan, but the stadium is kind of beautiful in sporty, modern kind of way.

And here's a sneak peek into a little project that we're doing with Lulu.

We're headed to a Greek food festival Saturday hopefully.  And in a few weeks, the OH is going home to Wisconsin to see his family for a week, so I'm sending Lulu with him.  They are getting along great, drinking lots of beer together.

I received from woobie a bit ago, but I've been a bit busy.  Here's the fantastic badge that she sent me.  It's perfect.

She also sent this super cute card that I wanted to share.

27  Re: Little Visitor Swap 15 (SU 3/12-3/19) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by MeganCrafts on: March 12, 2012 03:53:52 PM
I just sent mine in!  My OH and I are really looking forward to this swap.  It's a good excuse to get us out of the house this summer (I'm not very good at that).  I almost think he's more excited than I am, he's taking pictures of Bertrum now.

EDIT:  This is Bertrum.

I've received from three of my partners and finally got the pictures off of the camera and uploaded.  They are all so pretty that they'll probably end up on my bulletin board instead of in books.

From goddessgarb:

I love the colors.  She also painted the envelope and sent a bunch of paper ephemera, all of which fits me perfectly.

From mandykaye:

I love the poem and the quote.  I think my favorite part is the amazing texture under the poem.  She also sent a bunch of paper, which is perfect because I don't have any paper stash and papercrafting is something that I've been wanting to try.

From jadeye:

She made the bookmark based on Fight Club, which is one of my favorite books.  She also sent me an extra photography themed bookmark for my OH.

Thank you so much all of you.  You should be receiving from me in the next few days.  I really enjoyed crafting for all of you, it was a fun challenge for me since I decided to use a different medium for each bookmark.  I hope you like the ones I made for you as much as I love the ones that you made for me.

I didn't do much this month, but I do have a couple projects.

I made this bag for the Handspun & Handcraft swap.  It was inspired by a bag on my partner's Pinterest, but kind of just made it up as I went.  This is probably the most involved thing that I've ever sewn.  It holds one of the square flat rate boxes from the USPS.

And it's reversible.

I also made her a keyboard cat and a needle book.

And these I just made because I thought they were cute.  Not sure what I'm going to do with them because they are a bit too girly for my taste.

Everyone get your pinning/wisting fingers ready.  PJR107 is so amazingly talented.  She made me a tiny Ten and Rose.  The detail is incredible.

Thanks PJ!
