1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My Infinity Dress! on: June 03, 2011 06:12:15 AM
I had seen this type of dress on a website, for a huge amount of money, and decided to make my own.

I read a few tutes on it, found parts of all useful, and parts of all confusing.

So with the knowledge from reading several of them, I went out and bought the material, and got to work!

I love it.

The only problem is, the stitches pop. I talked to my mum, and I'm going to tear it apart (nbd, it was a one seam dress), and use a zig-zag stitch rather than the straight one, and hopefully that will give enough movement that it doesn't pop anymore!

2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Adorable Horse Neckalce on: June 03, 2011 06:06:28 AM
I had a little plastic horse from a birthday I had been at (they were on top of the cupcakes), and for a few years it was just in my purse, then a basket in my room.

Then I got an awesome long, gold chain from a grab bag at Ardene.

I decided to make something cool!

I bought a long plastic pearl strand from my local goodwill store, doubled it up, glued it and the gold chain together, then the horse on all 3 strands.

Some lace ribbon was tied around the horse, and blue ribbon around the clasp of the gold chain (this is where I glued the chain the "pearls" together), and my wonderful piece was complete!

3  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / My ami's, Feb'11 - Now :) (IMG Heavy) on: June 03, 2011 05:57:27 AM
In February I decided to try making some amigurumi's. I don't remember how or why I had found a few patterns, but I was willing to attempt it!

First I made a Link for a friend.

Then I made a Nibbler for another friend. Except, by the time he was done I was so in love with him, I decided to keep him!!!

Then I made myself an Agumon, while deciding what to make for the friend instead of the Nibbler.

Then I made a Jack Skellington for the friend, to replace the Nibbler.

Then a friend sent me some pictures of things she would like me to make her.
I made up my own pattern for a Botan.

A Dango family.

A starfish was also included in this.

Followed by, my pride and joy of ami's, a "Bug" inspired by TeamStarKid's "Starship".
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Crochet Yoke to Top a Dress on: May 23, 2011 01:35:37 PM
I'm looking for some simple, but pretty, patterns to crochet a yoke for strapless dresses.
I've only been able to find a few through google, but they are either far too complicated (my mum taught me crochet basics about 10 years ago, and I've just been figuring the rest out on my own), or just don't make sense. Many also contain charts, which I'm not interested in as I don't understand how to read or work them.
If anyone has simple, pretty yoke patterns, and are willing to share, I'd be so grateful!
Thanks so much guys!
5  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / Captain Hook Amigurumi on: March 09, 2011 12:42:17 PM
Hey guys!

I really want to make a Captain Hook Amigurumi for a friend of mine. He lives in LA, I'm in Ontario. I want to send it to him as a surprise.
I'm new to ami's (I've done a Link, Nibbler, and Agumon), but they've all turned out so far.
If anyone has a pattern/knows of one, could you link it to me?
I'm not confident enough in what I'm doing yet to create my own.
Thanks for your help! Smiley
