3  U.K. AND IRELAND / ENGLAND / Summer in London on: March 25, 2007 09:07:02 PM
This summer I'm going to be taking courses at CSM in London and I'll be needing to find a place to stay for three months.  I've been looking through gumtree and craig's list at studio apartments and flatshares, but I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice on neighborhoods.  I've heard Hoxton and Shoreditch have good artist communities (is that even true, still?) but I've also heard they can be dodgy.  What about Camden/Kentish town?  Or is there another neighborhood that is better?  Any advice?

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / reinforcing knitting on: November 12, 2006 07:31:43 PM
I knitted a headband and I am afraid it will stretch out too much over time.  Is there a way to reinforce knitting so it doesn't stretch?  (like, i would assume one would want to do in a handle of a purse)?

5  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / how can i promote my web site? on: July 14, 2006 04:41:00 PM

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Rachel-Marie Designer Scarves UPDATED on: March 05, 2006 07:44:14 PM
i agree; i really like the crochet decorations hanging off.  i've always wanted to learn to spin so i could make yarn out of lots of crazy fibers, but this project had inspired me to work with those fibers without spinning.  thanks.

8  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: domain name and web hosting? advice please! on: February 27, 2006 03:52:35 PM
i use ixwebhosting.com, and although i just started with them, i like them so far.  they were good for me because they had a smaller packages than some hosting companies (mine is a small small company) so, it seemed like the best deal for me.

10  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Looking for similar patterns... on: January 11, 2006 09:14:38 AM
well, that link doesn't work for me anymore, but i think i know the cape you are talking about, because i tried to make it about a year ago (whenever i saw it in the catalog).  unfortunately, i didn't know much about knittiing then, and it turned out a mess, but yesterday i decided to try again.

i found this pattern:  http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/khs-cape.html

and so now i'm ripping my old cape and starting over.  i'll post pictures if it works out.
