131  Woodland Diorama in Felting: Completed Projects by Harlan on: April 14, 2011 11:31:12 AM
Actually, this isn't "completed" - I'm still working on the woodland, adding a few details here and there. I wanted an environment in which to photograph some of my creatures. It's been an interesting project!

132  Snail in Felting: Completed Projects by Harlan on: March 31, 2011 04:25:16 AM
Felting up ideas for a possible woodland scene. Approached doing this shell completely differently than a shell bead that I made more than a year ago.

There are real snails that are this color - amazing!!

core fiber, Merino wool and hand dyed silk.

133  experimental piece - Bull in Felting: Completed Projects by Harlan on: March 24, 2011 03:26:53 PM
I was looking online at cave paintings and decided to make this:

He's made from core fiber (wool batting) with glass beads for eyes. Pretty stylized for me! Wink

134  Needle felted cat - Sassy Pritten in Felting: Completed Projects by Harlan on: March 23, 2011 10:02:53 AM
She's not a recent project - just one that I failed to post her photo on the web.

She's small enough that she fits in my hand. Made with core fiber, Merino wool, glass eyes and hand dyed silk for her fur.

It takes me about a week to make one of these - furring is very time consuming! =^..^=

These are such fun to make, I had to make another - I hand dyed the locks for this one:

137  Winged Lions - and new to these forums in Felting: Completed Projects by Harlan on: February 22, 2011 09:51:53 AM

Hello!! I am new here but not new to felting.

My name is Harlan (I also go by Jeanne) and I am a life long artist working primarily in oil paints and needle felting (not together, mind you!  Wink ). I'm the author of "Needle Felting - to the Point" and I also create needle felting classes for CraftEdu.com which was started by Donna Kato (polymer clay!) and her husband.

I have a lot of needle felted work and decided that for my first post here I would post my most recently finished projects. These were created for an intermediate needle felting class. They're fun to make an I expect I will be making some more in different colors. Ah - I am not allowed to post an image just yet so have provided a link.

In browsing the forums, I did notice a number of members that I recognize - nice to have some familiar faces! Smiley

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and seeing what everyone is making!
