1  bottlecap mirror/frame in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by ademareej on: April 24, 2010 08:50:02 AM
This was created for the crafty detective swap.  I have been saving/finding bottlecaps for a long time and have quite a collection in many colors.  I sorted them and laid out a couple of different designed; this one is what I liked best.  Attaching the bottle caps was a bit more difficult than I anticipated, but hot glue did the trick eventually.  (the picture is of the frame before I put the mirror back in).

2  textured autumn/fire in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by ademareej on: April 24, 2010 08:45:30 AM
I made these for the crafty detective swap.  Both are 6x9 on canvas with acrylic paint; the request was for textured art in autumn colors.  I think they turned out a bit brighter than autumn, more like fire, but I really like them.

3  radical and warm! in Crochet: Completed Projects by ademareej on: April 24, 2010 08:42:25 AM
I made this for the crafty detective swap...definitely one of my favorite projects!  I saw some pictures around craftster and on wists and freeformed a basic beanie and the mohawk.  The gray is acrylic and the blue is wool; for a stiffer/more stand up mohawk the recipient can wash the beanie, felting the mohawk but not the actual hat.  Sorry I don't have action shots; I sent it before I thought of getting them.

4  Re: Crafty Detective Round 6- the gallery! in The Swap Gallery by ademareej on: April 17, 2010 06:24:19 PM
I received!  and SAHmama spoiled me silly!  This is very picture heavy, so I posted thumbnails for most of them.

So, first I received a teaser letter earlier this week with this adorable needlebook (and a letter saying "Whooooo am I?":

Then today, I came home, wet and tired from moving a friend on a cold and rainy New England day, to this wonderful package:

Inside there were many goodies!  Wristlets form a recylced felted sweater and a cute lip balm holder ('cause I always lose mine...)

A West Wing tshirt:

an amazing treehugger for when I go camping:

a furry monster case for my DS:

the BEST DINO HAT EVER!!! (which, I will add, I haven't taken off yet...)

a zippered bag for when I go letterboxing (an outdoor treasure hunt of sorts)

and (I know, I know, it just keeps coming!!!)  TWO REVERSIBLE aprons...my partner has already claimed the alien one as hers!

SAHmama, thank you so much! It is all amazing!

5  Re: Yarn Swap for Rapunzel Scarf Round 4 in The Swap Gallery by ademareej on: October 17, 2008 03:55:17 PM
I have totally been a slacker on the picture posting...ack!  At any rate, here are the lovely yarns I received from Fosca, Phildude, and Kartiana.  I am excited - I should FINALLY have time this weekend to plait my scarf!

Thansk so much!  I'm excited for my scarf - I think all these textures are going to work really nicely together!

7  Warm Wooliness! in Crochet: Completed Projects by ademareej on: September 27, 2008 07:03:03 AM
One of my coworkers has a hat her mother made her which I absolutely adore.  So, I did what any self-respecting crafter would do - I made my own!

In Paton's Essentials Tweed Chunky:

I love it!  Next time, though, I think I'll start the stripe one or maybe two rows earlier.

9  Re: RAINBOW Swap Round 2 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by ademareej on: September 14, 2008 05:56:29 PM
Oh my gosh, such amazing packages!  I just realized today that I somehow never bookmarked the gallery...iw as starting to wonder why no one was posting pictures.

and in that vein, here is my package from Vegan Pickles (sorry it took me so long to post pics, my camera went AWOL!)

The protractory bit is actually a magnet, as are the pigs (several of their magnets fell off in transit and I haven't had a chance to reglue them yet!) and the crochet hook is much improved by the new rainbow-y handle it has.  Thanks Vegan Pickles!

10  Self-Portrait in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by ademareej on: July 08, 2008 02:28:20 PM
This was a self-portrait-ish project I did.  Perhaps symbolistic is a better term - every single thing in the painting has some sort of personal meaning for me; for example, the fence is a classic Kentucky fence, which is where i was born and raised, one constellation is Lyra, which I have a tattoo of, and another is Cancer, which was my father's astrological sign, and the fleur-de-lis in the bottom left corner is from the years I lived in New Orleans.   I am debating about putting more stars in the sky, but we'll see.  For now, it is done.
