81  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Knitting and Buffy...How to bring them together??? on: March 10, 2005 05:01:16 AM
Where's the drool smiley for when I talk about Spike? lol

I would love to see something spike related. You could also do a cute little mini bag with a stake knitted into it? Maybe if you re-watched the "Once More With Feeling" episode, something would stand out. A lyric or somesuch that would inspire an idea.

I agree - it's super cute. I could even wear that down here in Florida. (It's hard to find knitted pieces good for this weather!)

Yep, I get to be adorned with flowers and crowns while he slays the evil dragon. I know he'll grow out but damn it's sweet while it lasts.

I got it. I went to another site trying to get a pdf just now and got the same error and went hrrrrmmmmm? Turns out my reader wasn't linking up quite right. But it's all happy now. Thank you!

Looks to me like it's double yarn strands done up in rows of triple crochet (the one for sale that is). Martha's is harder to see. So if Martha puts out the pattern you think the inmate who made it will get any kickbacks? Wink

Oooh thanks! The twine would probably hold up nicely. Adding that to my pattern folder. Smiley

Does anyone still have this pattern? I went to the site and all the links were dead. I'd love to put this in the future projects for my mom (who lost a sister to breast cancer). Thanky, thanky!

I'm a newish knitter, but this is a project I have in the back of my mind.

I'd like to make "chain mail" for my 5 yo son who is obsessed with all things to do with knights. I think I could find patterns for hoods and simple vests etc. easily enough, but I'm not sure what type of yarn to use.

I'd like something silvery gray of course, but I'd also like it to be able to stand up to moderate play (i.e. him donning it and running around the house trying to rescue me from the dragon).

Any ideas on what I should be looking for? TIA!

That turned our really nice. And I love the yarn choice! Smiley

(And when I watch shows like "Knitty Gritty," I feel like I'm in the knitting minority.)

I watched that the other day and they had Lily Chen (sp?) on there. And she kind of ribbed Vickie Howell about being a thrower saying being a picker was way better for a bunch of stitch patterns. So I think it goes both ways.
