23  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: noah's shoes! [img heavy!] on: January 20, 2007 03:54:26 PM
Well, there's a song I was thinking of when I was painting them about the unicorn being the most beautiful animal, but how all of them were left behind when the ark set sail. I can't remember what the song was called or who it was by, but what I vaguely remembered inspired me.

Only I figured I would add dinosaurs into the mix. So yes, to answer your question, the dino and the unicorn were left behind. I figured it was kind of sad, so I tried to make the rest extra cute to make up for it. Consider it an ode to some of earth's coolest extinct animals. Smiley

thanks for the complements, guys, they were a lot of fun to make.

As for the shoes, I drew the design on first with a regular hb pencil (including a grid to keep the hearts distanced equally, you can see it a little through the orange). Then I used plain ol' acrilic paints. I  didn't use any kind of sealant though, so I'm a tad worried about how they'll turn out in the long run.

those are so cool I think I'll make some for myself. They would be great to keep in my locker at school for when I don't want to wear my big lumpy winter boots.

Awesome, thanks!

hi friends!

So, last year I was involved in community theatre and had to by these really boring white canvas shoes for my costume. Naturally, as soon as I didn't need them anymore, I painted them! Inspired by the cute unicorns that drawn by this artist, I drew my own unicorn, and ended up with a "noah's ark" theme. So, yeah! this is what I ended up with:
