Hey, It's Alex.
You may remember my old rooms,
the red, crazily crowded room...
or my dark, army green room

I've moved again.
I'm renting a room at a house
with some very friendly people.

I decided to paint the walls a dark gray,
called "Obsidian Glass".
The ceiling is a lighter gray,
...to add some contrast.

Here's "walk-in" view:

This room is much larger than any I've ever had before.
I'm trying to be more simplistic.
I hardly put anything up on the walls.
Behind the tall curtains is an arcadian door
that leads to my outdoor patio/balcony.
Oh, and yes, those are mannequins.

I love it here.

(Turning clockwise from the door)

The infamous shelf that everyone begs for a tutorial.
This is the most cluttered item in my room.
It's mostly filled with cameras that I collect.

This is my little mini-studio area.
I made the backdrops.
Bought some felt from JoAnn's,
and stapled them onto wooden dowel rods from Home Depot.
I also used some big hooks to support the dowels.
When I want to take some photos,
I just push forward my sofa,
(i installed wheels under my sofa)
pull down desired color,
set up the lights, and I'm ready.

For the curious...
I shoot with a Canon 30D.

My little entertainment corner.
Computer and Music.
I made the desk.
Soon, I hope to build a nice corner desk,
so I can have more "table room",
this way I can have a designated sewing station.
I hate using sewing machines on the floor.

I still have my sofa,
which I reupholstered myself.

Also, still the most comfortable bed.... ever!
Oh, and for those wondering,
that's a large blacklight above the bed.

The TV is nothing special.
I'm getting a very nice "upgrade" very shortly. Aha.
I do, however, have a very nice stereo system. Smiley
Under the TV is a 185 gallon terrarium that I made myself.
It cost me about $80 to make.
It's so amazing.
It houses three of my fairly large ball python snakes.
Spun, Salem, and Sybil. I love them.

My patio:

That's it for now.

Let me know what you think. Smiley
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Remember that crazy red room? Well, I moved.... on: September 29, 2006 08:52:15 PM
This is an old room...
I've moved once again...
You can see my new room here:

Hi, My name is Alex.
You might remember seeing my old room,
the red, crazily crowded room,
Here's the link to help you remember:

Well, I've moved.
I've become much neater.
I've also disposed of many unnecessary items.

I painted the room a color noted as "Thorny Branch"
Which is basically a really really dark army green.
Also, the ceiling is painted black.

Here's "walk-in" view:

Me, Gibson Les Pauling, on the most comfortable bed ever....

Same sofa, but totally reupholstered by myself.
Oh, and that's a black light over it...

The doors and stuff...

I got rid of my Big Screen TV,
and now I have a little 27".
And ignore the little "bitch-amps", they're temporary...

A homemade shelf thing that I put stuff on...

Finally, desk...

...that's basically it.
Sorry, it's not as "cool" as my last room.
But I honestly like it better like this.
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / ...MY ROOM'S NUTS! on: October 27, 2005 06:07:27 AM
...I have moved,
so this is no longer my current room.
To see where I'm at now,
check here:
...it's much more organized,
and not as chaotic.

Feel free though,
to check out my old room (below).

 (LAST UPDATED 02/01/2006)

...my name is alex....

....and this is my room.
(sorry there's so many pictures, it was hard to show everything.)

Anyway, this is what you see when you walk in:

my walls are really a flat darkish red
built the platform for the desk myself (it cost me about $60 to make).
i also took my rolling computer chair, sawed off the legs and bolted it down (it swivels, raises, and lowers)
painted the desk myself as well.
my room is very dark when the light is off, even during the day. i covered the window with some heavy fabric

under the platform is my waterbed (king size)
I also connected some speakers down there.

...A lot of you might think that i hit my head on the platform a lot, but I rarely do.

here is my "tv" corner. i'm planning on buying a newer bigscreen.

on the way to the door...

ya, i have my own little vacuum. i like to keeps things "clean".
on my door, there's a dumb drawing i did a loooooong time ago.

i redid my sofa, it used to be fugly looking but i covered it in some soft furry crap..it feels good.

my snake's room..

on the way back towards the desk..

wait, some of my guitars, my recorder, and my boss gt-8 effect pedal. I also made that 6 guitar holder thing.
check it out here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=56028.0

my ceiling, i covered in 'sale' signs i got from some clothing store

my carpet, i let people write whatever.

there's also some rasterbation info stuff i made on page 3
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Guitar Stand (holds 5 elec., 1 acoustic) *pics fixed on: October 01, 2005 03:17:23 AM
I was tired of having all my guitars all over my room... (I have 7 guitars).. so I decided to buy a stand for many guitars. I saw that they were pretty expensive.. So I decided to make my own.
It holds 5 electric, and an acoustic... or instead of an acoustic, it can hold my keyboard.
It's only 2feet 9inches long and 1foot 8inches wide. So it doesn't take up to much space... and it's definitely better than having a bunch of single stands.

The black that you see on the outside is actually some really really dark vinyl stuff.
And the Pink is a very very furry/soft fabric so it won't scratch the guitars

10  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / a little drawing on: March 06, 2005 11:54:14 PM
http://c.myspace.com/00061/84/18/61518148_l.jpg just some drawing of a girl. I saw Naked Ninja's charcoal portrait of Jim Morrison, it looks like a black/white photograph, it's extremely good; i wish i can make my drawings seem realistic.
