15  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / another fo: twinkle's shopping tunic on: April 24, 2007 11:30:25 AM

i'm so loving this book. in fact, it's the first book i ever got that i'm totally gonna make everything in it. at some point. but with the way they're knitting up so quick, i might actually be able to make them all in a span of 2 months. of course that would cost way too much for yarn. so i'll space it out.
16  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / fo: twinkle's big city knits' aspen on: April 23, 2007 02:57:39 PM

i finished this thing and i love it. unfortunately it's for my sister. but it's just so cute i had to try it on. just to make sure it fit. *wink*

i'm gonna make her a matching scarf.
17  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / review of twinkle's big city knits on: April 15, 2007 07:47:29 AM
ok, i know a lot of people have reservations about this book because of the sizing. if you read the note in the errata on classiceliteyarns.com wenlan says that the sizing is meant to be smaller than the actual measurements of the person that will wear it. in fact, she says it better than me:

A few words about sizes: Over the years, Ive experimented a great deal with stitches, knitwear construction, and yarns especially the chunky ones I love so
much to play with scale and create the silhouettes I want for garments. Many Twinkle knits feature a snug, body-shaping fit that looks fresh in big yarns. In some cases, proper fit means that the dimensions of the finished piece may seem smaller than youd imagined. Therefore, if youre a size medium, follow the instructions for a size medium sweater even if the diagram measurements arent what you expected. The sizing in the book is consistent based on how the garment is supposed to fit on the body. The finished garment measurements are not the persons body measurements. The general sizing standard of chest in the book is: XS = 31" 33"; S = 33" 35"; M = 35" 37"; L = 37" 39". For example, if you wear size small (or size 2 and 4) generally, regardless what the fifi nished measurement is for that sweater, you should knit S size.

so i hope that helps you in your decision to buy this book. i would've left this on amazon.com where i bought the book but i forgot my password. so anyway. i just got it in and i'm so stoked about making stuff from this thing. seeing those same garments on the runway and then being able to actually make them on my own is so incredible to me. noone else here at home, husband or parents or brother or sister can possibly understand how this feels for me. so i just hope you guys do too.

20  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / FINALLY!! finished buttony raglan on: December 27, 2006 04:08:15 PM
i finished this just yesterday. it took me forever because i had to put it on hold for christmas gifts. it's done and i don't like it. i hate when that happens. i'm going to rip it but i had to share it first. it's not as fitted as i want in the body and i really don't like how wide the neck is. darn. and it's so warm

i also put a pic of my niece in the finished sweater i made her.

enjoy!!
