11  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / a couple of small projects on: June 07, 2008 11:13:05 AM

This is a project that I completed at a weekend workshop, we were using screen printed text to embellish the fabrics before creating quilted panels, I don't know why I did it the shape I did or why I used two layers and created loops but there you go!

Here is a closer look

This is just a small simple quilt I made a couple of weeks ago, it is nowhere near perfect but it is bright and friendly!

12  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Wooden mechanical toy with dancing clogs on: June 07, 2008 10:49:04 AM
My friends brought me back these little wooden clogs from their trip to Amsterdam, they thought maybe I would paint them.......I thought maybe I would paint them until I had a free day at school (I teach textiles) yesterday and I decided to enlist the resistant materials teachers into helping me make a mechanical toy with them! When you wind the little handle on the left the cams turn and push the clogs up and down so they do a little dance! I got to use all the big scary machines to make it as well, sooooo much fun!

13  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / cloth doll fairy on: December 27, 2007 02:44:32 AM
I made this for my friend's birthday a few years ago and just came accross a photo of it on my parent's computer so I thought I would post it! I used a pattern from a Patti Culea's Creative Cloth Dolls. My friend loves fairies and gardening so those were the inspiration for her clothing.

16  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / secret santa bag on: December 26, 2007 03:59:14 AM
We do a secret santa at work, here's the bag I made for the lady whose name I drew. I really love the shape of it so I think I will make a few more.

I'm a teacher and I painted these mugs for my form group as their christmas presents. I was so glad once the last one was painted but it was fun to give them out  Grin

18  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / pouch of greetings cards on: December 26, 2007 03:31:48 AM
I made this for my gran for christmas, the pouch is made of rag rug canvas with strips of fabric woven through it and lined with some space dyed fabric. There are five different cards and tissue paper and freezer paper envelopes.

19  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / a few pencil/brush rolls on: December 26, 2007 03:19:00 AM
I made sketching rolls for my Mum and Dad's christmas presents this year

and I made a brush roll for my Aunt, the pink fabric was done using my embellishing machine and I made the cord using the bobbin winder on my sewing machine

I like the pattern I created for my Mum and Dad's rolls but I need to alter it so the zipped pocket is lined next time and I prefer having the embellished fabric. Now that my christmas making is over I can make one for myself that combines all the best elements!
20  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Gingerbread men gift tags on: December 26, 2007 02:59:35 AM
I knitted these gift tags for my family gifts this year, I'm not really much of a knitter so they all have their own 'character'! After I knitted them I fulled them then needle felted on the icing  Cheesy and sewed on the ribbon loops.
