Haha! Thanks everyone! In case you were wondering, this is what the real Poe looks like. She is twenty years old and full of mischief. Cheesy

2  Poe Breaks the Moon in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by andralynn on: April 17, 2019 04:12:22 PM
Poe was not happy. She had been left alone for almost an entire hour. She could see a little bit of the bottom of her food dish, her water bowl was room temperature, not chilled the way she liked, and, worst of all, she was bored. So when she wandered outside and saw that someone had carelessly left the moon laying around, what happened next really wasn't her fault...

Title: "Poe Breaks the Moon"

 Cheesy

3  A painting with a story :) in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by andralynn on: March 25, 2019 02:48:50 PM
I love to paint paintings that have a story to go along with them. Here is the story that I imagined when painting this one:

The little brown rabbit lived under the tall evergreen trees nestled in the Purple Mountains. He ran and played, jumped and danced, and frolicked happily by the water's edge, making everyone who met him smile and laugh at his joy. One day, as he sat under the tallest tree in the forest, he heard a marvelous sound. A mockingbird had landed on a nearby branch and sang such a beautiful song that the little brown rabbit felt as if his heart would burst. He wanted to sing along more than he had ever wanted anything in his entire life, and he felt the music build up inside him, but try as he might, he could not utter a single note. The poor little bunny cried out in despair and asked the mockingbird how he, too, could sing. The mockingbird replied that it would require a great adventure and told him how it could be done. That very afternoon, the little brown rabbit set sail in a little boat. His adventure had begun.

4  The Dragon and The Princess in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by andralynn on: January 31, 2019 01:57:12 PM
I just finished this painting. It has lots of metallic finishes in the scales on on the dragons face. I used acrylic paint and Pearl Ex pigment powder. Soooooo many layers and so much fun!

I was wondering if anyone else here is participating in Inktober this year? These are mine so far (I've actually been keeping up! Whew!). I would love to see everyone else's work!

Hello all! It's been awhile since I've checked in here. I just wanted to share some of the art I've been working on lately. In particular, these crazy, little coffee addicts! Cheesy

9  Painted Ukulele in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by andralynn on: December 01, 2017 02:05:26 PM
I think a ukulele is the most unusual thing I've ever painted! It was a little nerve racking because I didn't want to mess the instrument up! I still need to coat it with a sealer, but I think it's finished.

This is a really awesome piece. It has an odd sense of serenity, with the soft moonlight while still managing to be foreboding.
I also went and checked out your Etsy Smiley Didn't find this piece though, but it was enjoyable seeing your artwork. Smiley

Thank you! It doesn't really fit with my "happy" artwork that people buy for their nurseries etc., so I didn't list it in my shop. Honestly, I'm not sure what to do with it! I may have to create an alter ego to sell this sort of thing. Haha.

I think an alter Ego would be a fun idea to do; you could appeal to an older group. I liked your cute painting, but they're not really my style. Do you have any other paintings that you've done is this adult style?

Here's another one I did recently that also doesn't quite fit with my other art. I sold it already --
so I guess there must be a market for this kind of art!
Cheesy I guess I just need to figure out my alter ego.
