1  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / PVC Sailor Moon Scout Cosplay on: June 03, 2012 09:05:45 AM
My friend (Sailor Mars) and I (Sailor Pluto) made our outfits by bodging together a couple of patterns and making up the rest. I really couldn't have done it without her, It's my second dress and there are quite a few mistakes on it where I was either too tired or wasn't really sure of how to do it. The outfits ended up being a  jacket, dress, glove cuff, boot cuffs, head band and a clutch bag not shown here. I actually found the pvc quite easy to use, just awkward when your maneuvring it around the machine. We got them ready just in time for the event, still doing a few bits the night before. The top material was football shirt material which we interfaced, in hindsight we probably wouldn't have bothered because they were too crinkly. All in all the whole thing cost about 30 inc wigs and the gloves we bought, which is really cheap compared to the ones on ebay, and they were much nicer.

 Anyway really enjoyed wearing it, would love to get some feedback.

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Help needed for super nice all saints dress! on: October 31, 2011 01:47:39 PM
Okey doke so I was wondering around the shops and decided out of boredom to try this dress on and I really really really loved it (x a million), and then I realised it was 200 Sad  So now I need to try and make something similar.

Its just a wrap dress really, the underskirt is just a regular skirt underneath. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any good patterns /tutorials that I could use Smiley

10  COOKING / Dessert / The Carrot Cake Debate: To soak or not to soak? on: February 04, 2011 05:12:18 AM
Afer years of thinking carrot cake was totally gross, I have come to my senses and decided its actually quite super. Anyway, I do make quite a nice little cake already, but I don't soak any of the current/raisens. So what I want to know is;

A. To soak or not to soak?

B. What to soak?

C. What to soak stuffs in? (I have been told orange juice is the key)

D. Anything else carrot cake related that's worth a try? (especially toppings)
