After lurking in this thread for so long, I've finally had my letter. Cue lots of running around and exciting shopping followed by a jolly train journey and a breathtaking trip across the lake and an arrival in the wings of the great hall, awaiting my turn with the Sorting hat.

Now, in common with all Hogwarts students, I don't get to choose which house I'm in. I can ask, but not define. On this occasion, I've asked my other half, who seems to look into my head often enough to know what I'm really like. No self delusion to skew a quiz answers to the one that I want. And the response came....

I'm kind of surprised by that, but I'll take it and hope to live up to the name. I look forward to handing in some classes soon. See you around school.

At first glance I thought it was a messenger bag. Although the box is amazing, I think it would be very cool to have a folded wooden messenger bag (although I think the gusset might still have to be fabric).

Thank you for the imagination prompt Smiley and good luck with the boxes.

Renstar:I Love your Stars flag, I can't tell if it is glow in the dark or not, but it looks like it does. I especially like the way the stars look like flowers too, they remind me of the tiny flowers in Lord of the Rings, whose name I don't remember just now.

red popsicles, your Dare flag is wonderful, so sunshiney and cheerful. To paint over a print is such an innovative thing to do as well.

P_E_S_T you have such a great Arise flag I love the bright flowers and the wee charms on the bottom are truly charming.

red popsicles, what amazing dandelions! The simplicity of the design is deceiving, it is so hard to get something simple that looks just right. I admire your ability.

CraftyMamaBee, your crayoned Present flag is smashing, what a lovely thing to do to get your 5 year old to help. It would make sure that I never threw it away if it were me.

The Maiden Mother Crone flag is so delicate and tasteful. It wouldn't be out of place in a ladies drawing room, where tea is served in bone china cups!

The Listen flag is glorious and ingenious. To appeal to more than one sense is a brilliant idea and so appropriate to the word!

I am pleased to show my own flag now. I chose the word "Wind". Kind of appropriate for a kite flyer and besides, when Wulf was asking about inflated flags, an idea just popped into my head.

Here is the uninflated picture.

And here it is in it's home after inflation

The flag I sent to Seeuudee is homemade paper, I had a whale of a time making it, experimenting until I got clouds and grass and sky to merge together just right.

Sadly the first flag got lost in the post, so the only sheet of paper that came out intact with stems and berries embedded into the paper has gone to a different place, but somehow I prefer the second design (and I got to put some thorns onto the raspberry bush, which was entertaining!)

Anyhow, here's the picture of the first one

I'm waiting to post my flag until Seeuudee has received one I sent, as it has a common element and I don't want to spoil any of the surprise. But I may get too impatient at the end of the week and post it anyway.

SonjaBoo, I love the ? dictionary? page butterfly you've added such beautiful placement, and your metal letters double the emphasis- double the prayers? Smiley

I love the way the lace design shows so beautifully in your flag, I think it shows respect for the creator of the original sewing.

Wulf, your flag for yourself looks like my dream of a garden. All those lovely shades of green and different textures smoothed together: lush and rich and peaceful and a touching quote too.

Calliemae, your bliss flag with the ocean and shells is splendid. I love the effect of the wooden waves and the seashells on the beach are sweet.

SonjaBoo, your explore flag is just down my street, I love space and this reminds me of all my childhood hopes. It is beautifully conceived and finished.

Smaart, your own flag is so meaningful. Thank you for sharing the elements behind it. It is beautiful too. I like your handprinted fabric, what an amazing range of things you've used to create it.

Fatewineroses, your abundance flag is amazing, your embroidery skills are excellent and your colour choices work so very well together.

craftymamabee, your harmony flag is lovely. I like the way you've made the 4 elements and it truly does create a harmonious whole.

redpopsickles,  I love the tree on your growth flag: it reminds me of the apple tree at my old house, which grew in much the same way.

Quaggy, your dream flag is beautiful. Did you wire bend your own word? It is perfect. You're another craftster who has a really good eye for colour: the contrasts are perfect. The dream-catchers are lovely too and the feathers, just the perfect finishing touch.

CraftyMamaBee, your Ailurophile flag is incredible. What a great use of serendipitous material and to highlight all the cats and then add another one, just takes it to the next level.

Arcadian Driftwood, I love the wood pattern you've achieved on the relax flag and the frayed edges look just like a broken off piece of wood: perfect!

PerfectlyBohemian: you have a lovely self made flag, the felted background is splendid and I'm amazed by your awesome stamp-making skills.

Abbeeroad: your flag for alwaysinmyroom is really innovative, the binocular visions are wonderful as well as new, cool painting in such small spaces as well.

Alwaysinmyroom, you have such a talent for colour, what an amazingly appropriate flag for cheer: how could anyone fail to be cheered by it Smiley

Renstar, your wonder flag really is a wonder: such an impressive dragon, beautifully rendered.

rscowtown, I'm sure your lucky flag will summon lots of good fortune for Smmart, it is lovely and clear, a very good design choice.

PerfectlyBohemian, your flag for arcadian driftwood has your lovely felted background again and you've lifted it further by those great sweater flowers and beads for the centres. I love the 3 dimensionality and the charm of it.

Alwaysinmyroom, your vast flag makes me dream of horizons of eternity and also makes me want to try the cut away effect, although I know I'll never be as effective at it as you are!

RSCowtown, your rain flag is so sweet, you have such a neat hand with the embroidery and I adore those tiny rain beads.

calliemae, your home flag is beautiful, so many different embroidery stitches and such a fun piece of grass.

loves2experiment, your self made flag is just what  your own theme needs, it must have taken so much focus to make all those tiny stitches and your circles are geometrically perfect as well as aesthetically perfect!

PerfectlyBohemian, stamping fabric is such a contrast to all that lovely texture that I've already said how much I love and you've chosen so very apt a range of materials for Pastiche.

cmarion, bliss and moment are  such contrasts for very similar materials and techniques, you really show how much of a difference design makes and these clearly have a lot of thoughtful design in them.

rscowtown, your own flag is charming, such a lovely neat flower again and those tiny enchanting rain drops.

I hope to be showing my own flags soon.
