6  Willy Wonka Costume in Costumes: Completed Projects by PatriaE on: April 09, 2009 10:51:30 AM
So, I'm now costuming at Miami Children's Theater. Which is a non-for-profit theater, for kids, by kids.

Here was the Willy costume I made. It is sort of a mix of the Gene Wilder and the Depp version although I've always been a Wilder fan. I found a large dark green velvet blazer at a thrift store and altered it and added a striped trim to make it more "Wonka" and so that'd fit our skinny actor. I also made the matching vest and added trim to the hat. In the last scene(Spoiler Alert!), when Charlie wins, he goes off stage and makes a 30 second change into a little Wonka suit. I've got to find those pictures. If I do I'll post'em

Full Shot

FOUND PICTURE! Wonka and Charlie in little Wonka suit

Here are some other costumes, second hand, stock and built.

The Salts (I based her after Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl)

The Beaugregards. She blew up with an inflatable suit underneath

The Teavees. Oh, there so skeezy

I'M SO LATE! :(I'm so sorry that I haven't posted these yet but my card reader was lost but now it's found so here goes... Undecided

;DI got a Amigurumi bento box with everything you need to make them including a journal with instructions HANDWRITTEN!
I got a box!

And then I opened it!

And this was all the stuff I got! Everything you need to make an amigurumi, literally everything.

And this is a better  picture of the beautiful bag I got!!! I LOVE THIS BAG!

I also got this amazing pill bracelet. It's a little bit big but I have taken out a few links (but I kept all the charms) since I took these pictures.

Thank You spotnik!!! You're the best.

8  You betcha! Maverick for Obama!!! Shirt (IMAGE HEAVY) in Screen Printing: Completed Projects by PatriaE on: November 02, 2008 09:53:32 PM
So I went to the Obama Rally in Miami and I made a shirt. And I was the cutest little supporter there with a homemade silkscreened shirt (and pin). The font is cooper, btw.

It came out a bit wonky because originally, I was going to put "mavericks for Obama" but then I changed my mind, so I taped over it, with little success. Whatever, I'm a Maverick!

9  Old School, Old-timey OBAMA pin (IMAGE HEAVY) in Craft The Vote! by PatriaE on: November 02, 2008 09:48:56 PM
So I went to the Obama Rally in Miami and I made a pin and a shirt. And I was the cutest little supporter there with a homemade pin (and shirt).

I made it with ribbon, an old florida "vets vote"(shout out to my grandpa), glittery stickers, and a glue gun.

Close up, next to my teddy/bunny pin. Gotta show some TR love. The original maverick

All together

Whatever, I'm a Maverick!

10  Feathers, jewels, and netting. Oh My!!! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by PatriaE on: September 25, 2008 05:05:28 PM
So, I made a few things. I found a great hat supplies store downtown and I couldn't resist buying some stuff. By the way this is my first attempt at stuff like this.

As much as I hate Kenley on Project Runway, she was the inspiration for this feathered headband with red veil.

A Green beret that I added a feather piece and a vintage brooch

I saw a headband like this in a magazine a few years ago and I've always wanted to recreate it.

Thanks for looking! Comments, Criticisms appreciated.
