41  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Beaded Crosses on: January 22, 2011 05:06:11 PM
So, I was supposed to be cleaning my art room (I have become so inspired by all of the crafty room makeovers here)...but I got distracted and made these instead! I gathered the supplies together to try one of the pretty Tree of Life pendants, but didn't have heavy enough wire for the circle part, so I made these instead.

What a cutie! I second (third?) the need for a breakaway clasp, it is amazing what kitties can get up to (and into, and stuck on!)

You are going to have a blast crafting for this handsome fellow--cat beds, climbing posts, toys! I love the small scale of pet toys, they are like instant gratification projects!

I have made a few--agree with the above about the stronger thread--I use a denim or leather needle as well for thicker collars. Have you tried etsy--if you check the supply section, you may find someone selling clasps, hope this helps!

This is so pretty!! Was it hard to make? I can bead, but wirework is not my thing...
47  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Cheap and fast Puppy chew ropes on: January 22, 2011 08:19:39 AM
I made a pair of these (with my 3 year old assistant) in about 10 minutes, so cheap, easy and the puppy loves them!(I saw some in PetSmart for $7 each, and made my own for $1 each).

I did a step by step on my blog, but these were basically cut, tie, braid, tie, toss to puppy!

hmm...cant post a picture yet, the link is above! Hopefully I can edit and add one soon!

She is lovely--I especially like her hair, that is the toughest part for me to get right!
50  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Super soft super bulky yarn? on: January 19, 2011 03:15:52 PM
I like LB Thick n Quick, it has a really nice squishyness and great stitch definition. For a more spendy choice, I like the super-bulky wool by Twinkle ( I think it was twinkle soft chunky). I made an enormous cowl from this that is super soft and the kids keep stealing it because it is so soft and warm!
