Agree--those buttons are so cool. Also intrigued, wondering how you make them!

Yay! I am practically sitting on my hands to keep myself from starting projects for this one -- I have so many in my head! But I don't yet know who my partner is, so don't know what she (or he, I guess!) would like...

AARHH! Maybe I'll give in and go ahead with several projects, and then choose the ones most appropriate for my partner... and keep the rest for myself!  Grin

The mugrug is cute! Cannot give anyone advice on wonky sewing, since my last sewing project came out wonky as well.  Cheesy

I want that cowl!

What a cool bed sheet! Makes a great bag. Can't wait to see the skirt.

Car accident -- YUCK! So sorry...

I need one of those hanging laundry bags -- mine are on the floor and I trip over them almost daily.

The teapot is pretty, too!

I'm finding it fun to re-discover crafts that I had learned in my youth but hadn't done since. Like embroidery and crochet. I do think people can have a "knack" for certain crafts (and conversely, a tough time learning others). I usually focus on the ones that are personally more "intuitive" (or enjoyable, or whatever)...  Of course, I don't deny being lazy, either!  Smiley

Thanks much! Two of the upholstery samples (front and back) were from the same company and the same "collection" so they were made to coordinate with one another. As for the others... I think there are just certain colors that I am drawn to, on remnants-and-samples tables!

I wish I had noticed that the bound edges of the front upholstery sample did not line up correctly with the geometric pattern -- the purse is ever-so-slightly wonky because I cut on the horizontal lines, but the vertical wasn't quite straight. Embarrassed

That is so much fun! I think I need to make one for my sister, who used to be an English teacher. Beautifully done!

I have been meaning to do this project for over a year, but never got around to it...

Then I started participating in the 2012 DeStash-Along, and that inspired me to do it!

The purse is made from 5 upholstery samples and two drapery remnants. Everything was from my stash except the clasps that are attached to the straps. The strap length is adjustable, depending upon whether you attach 4 lengths of chain.

One of the inside pockets is just the right size for my I-phone!  Cheesy

Thanks, everyone! I had not thought about posting it over in the "purses and bags" section of Craftster, but I will! My son said, "Wow, Mom, that looks kinda professional -- until you get really close to it." Ha!

I agree the little hearts are adorable -- do you have a special plan for them?

That purple scarf is gorgeous!

I can imagine the stuffie and it sounds perfect for the kiddos!

Here is my latest project -- I upcycled some upholstery samples and made a purse.

It's entirely from stash, except for four lobster-claw-type clasps that attach the purse straps.

Maybe my favorite part, is that there is a pocket inside that is the PERFECT size for my Iphone!

It's definitely "for me" and kinda "striped" (in a way... if you interpret it loosely!) I've had a sizable stash of upholstery samples for a long time, always intending to make purses out of them but never quite getting around to it. The DeStash-Along was just the "nudge" that I needed to get the long-dormant project underway! Thanks!
