1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Cat in a Bowl on: July 14, 2009 02:40:05 AM
this was probably my first embroidery piece in 15 years. it's a bit wonky but i love it endlessly. the image is traced from a drawing by the ever so talented Gemma Correll, you should check her out!

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Striped Beret on: July 14, 2009 02:26:25 AM
a few months ago i made a bunch of striped berets (i'm crazy for both berets and stripes!), i'm not gonna show them all to you, that would bore you since they'll all pretty much the same but with different colours, but i will show you one. i can almost not wait for cooler weather so i can wear them.

my friend maria was kind enough to model it for me. thank you darling!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / fruit jumper/high waisted skirt on: October 16, 2008 06:38:40 AM
i realized today that i never showed off the fruit skirt i made a while ago, and i thought it was well about time. it my favourite skirt and i looove it. i have a lot of fabric left that i don't know what to do with, any suggestions? at first i thought i'd do another one, this time with the fruit pattern vertically, as i first intended to but somehow screwed up, but now i really don't see the point as i love it the way it is.

i used this pinafore tutorial i found here on craftster. i couldn't follow it exactly since i'm dumb enough to think i know better, so it's not as great as it could've been.

more details and related rants in my blog here, here and here.
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / crochet puff beret *with pattern* on: June 03, 2008 09:02:53 AM
i was obsessed with making berets like this one last winter, and since i'm both lazy and never understood the idea behind seasonal crafting i thought i'd share this pattern with you now.

You will need:
2 skeins drops karisma superwash, or any other DK weight yarn, approx 100g and 200-250 yard in total
6 mm/J hook
Tapestry needle

download .pdf HERE!

5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / kitty coin purse on: May 02, 2008 02:21:38 AM
i've been making these, obsessively, lately:

and look at his sweet little tail:

it's 11x9cm and closes behind the ears with velcro.

cute, no?
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / a not so housy house hat beret on: April 30, 2008 03:13:00 AM
i've been searching high and low after the perfect beret pattern and charmed knits house hat beret pattern is the knit one i like best so far. i'm not much of a potter fan so i made a plain, white version instead, and added a little "tail" on top.

as you might see i had to single crochet around the brim as it was too big. yesterday i frogged the whole thing though, and made the child sized one and it fit me better. i don't know if i have the worlds smallest head or if my gauge is constantly off without me noticing, but the kid size fit better anyway. i won't bother you with photos of the new version as it looks exactly the same.
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / crochet mary janes on: April 30, 2008 03:03:45 AM
i don't know why it took me so long to hop on the band wagon and crochet me a pair of mary janes. well, finally i did and here they are:

from this pattern.
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / skull slip *with link to tutorial* on: August 13, 2007 05:49:00 PM
i bought the cutest nightwear slip (just like this one, only in a pretty ladybug pattern instead, at topshop a few days ago and thought i'd make something similar for my friend's birthday. while i appreciate ladybugs and other girly stuff my friend does not so i decided to make her a more rock n' roll inspired one.

lookie, lookie!:

unironed, yes.

& a close up of the skull patch:

i gave it to her last weekend and she loved it, which was almost a bit of a shame because i wouldn't mind keeping it myself.

thank you for taking a look!

EDIT: i've finally made a quick tutorial. you'll find it HERE
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / my yellow purl bee beret on: May 20, 2007 02:56:00 PM
just in time for the summer i decided to make a beret. seasonal knitting is something i just can't seem to do. Roll Eyes

pattern: http://www.purlbee.com/beret-purl/
yarn: i seem to have lost the label but it was a finnish wool yarn i got in a swap with shiitake.
notes: it came out a bit big and lazy as i am i refused to frog it so i solved it by crocheting around the ribbing for a better fit.
10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Bunny and kitty coin purses on: July 10, 2006 03:57:49 PM
Instead of studying i made these two fellas:

They open at top, behind the ears, with velcro. I've made about a thousand of these in different sizes, they're so addictive and cute (if i may say so myself Wink).
