8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Chain stitch triangular shawl with tassles and pattern on: January 17, 2011 07:35:13 AM
This shawl is my second crochet project.

I took the idea for this pattern from here: http://yarnoverlounge.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=23.

I would have to pay to get the pattern, so, I messed around for a few days working the pattern out.  I eventually got the pattern to work nicely in a v-shape.  I decided not to stitch my trebles into the top of the previous row of trebles - decided it would take a very long time to finish my project; so instead, I stitched my trebles onto the horizontal chains inbetween the other trebles.

I then made the tassles 10" long and beaded in glass and silver beads, so that the tassles have a shimmer to them!

I am going to crochet up another one for my daughter, and this time i'm going to get the pattern even more perfect.

For anyone who is interested, here is what i did.  First time writing crochet pattern language, but i'll try my best.

7ch, join with slipstitch, 6ch, turn.
1tr, 3ch, 1tr, 6ch, turn
1tr (in horizontal chain space between chain 3 and treble), 2tr in next chain space, 6ch, turn
1tr (in horizontal chain space between chain 3 and treble),
1tr, 3ch in each horizontal chain space,
2tr in last chain space, 6ch, turn.

So basically there is a 6 ch and 1 treble at the ends on one horizontal bar, and this is how the pattern increases.  I just kept going until my shawl was wide enough.

Hope this all makes sense for anyone who is interested.
