1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: How is this done? (Digital sewing project planning) on: January 29, 2014 04:11:05 PM
Thanks for your reply but I've figured it out. Apparently this is called a storyboard (learn something new everyday!), a quick google search led me to the tutorial I was looking for. Thanks for trying to help!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / How is this done? (Digital sewing project planning) on: January 29, 2014 11:15:49 AM
I came across this (ikrod.blogspot.com):

Does anyone know how this was made? Is it a special program or just clever photoshopping? I vaguely remember seeing a tutorial for something like this years ago but I can't remember where and I don't even know what to call it to google it. Does anyone know where this tutorial might be?

I really want to do this for my future sewing planning!

Sorry if this is in the wrong category, this seemed like the most appropriate one but please feel free to move this thread if it's wrong.
3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: McCalls 6544 - Pieces 15 & 16 not printed on pattern tissue, please help! on: February 09, 2013 12:13:35 PM
I didn't see anything about dimensions of the pieces but I will check the instruction sheet again. I am going to contact McCalls on Monday about this if no one can help before then. I was hoping to get this done this weekend since I am snowed in due to the storm in the NE, I was just looking for a quick fix here.
4  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / McCalls 6544 - Pieces 15 & 16 not printed on pattern tissue, please help! on: February 08, 2013 05:15:17 PM
I just cut out all the pieces to this pattern and I noticed that I am missing pieces 15 and 16 (bow and knot). I double checked all the pattern tissue and I do not see these pieces anywhere. Anyone else have this pattern and have this problem? Better yet, does anyone have this pattern and could provide me the measurements for these 2 pieces? They appear to be rectangle shaped so I would really appreciate any help here! Thanks in advance!
5  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Question about purchasing e-copies of Big Company patterns... on: January 29, 2013 02:57:11 PM
I'm not sure if I am asking this in the correct place so please feel free to move this or even delete if it's not allowed here.

I was searching for doll clothing patterns and came across this Etsy shop:

I notice that she is selling copies of big brand companies patterns (Vogue, Simplicity...). Is this legal? I see several that I would love to purchase from her but I am worried about potential copyright infringement issues. I did send her a message to ask about this but have not gotten a response (this was about a week ago). Should I be reporting this shop or do people actually have legal rights to sell copies of patterns like this? I'm confused because as far as I know patterns are copyright protected against reselling copies like this. Any advise?

***EDIT*** I just checked this particular sellers feedback and she is at 66%. I guess I will be reporting, anyone else that can report too probably should...
6  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Re: Pictures with Satan Photo "Booth" - Mmmmwahahahahahaaaa! on: November 22, 2011 03:16:26 PM
Amazing! This reminds me of The Hogfather by Terry Pratchett - reading the book the first time this is very similar to how I had the mall scene pictured in my mind (when Death dresses as Santa for the kiddos). Very well done!
7  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / For the Horde! My first project and post here - Pic heavy on: January 23, 2011 01:13:37 PM
My first big project and first post here!

My fiance is a HUGE World of Warcraft fan so I decided to surprise him with some gifts. After 2 weeks and tons of mistakes I finally ended up with this.

The blanket is about 60" x 70" and the pillows are about 15" x 12" (I wish I had made them slightly bigger).

This project took me WAYYY longer than it should have, I made so many mistakes throughout but learned so much! I'm happy with how it turned out and I can't wait to see my fiance's reaction to them! I'm also working on a plushie Murloc for him but I have no photos of that yet. C & C welcome and appreciated! The pillows were inspired by another project here that I can't seem to find (sorry to whoever originally made them!) and the blanket was inspired by something I saw on Etsy but there was NO WAY I was going to pay $135 for it!! Thanks for looking!
8  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / Re: Dumbledore's Army Hoodie on: January 23, 2011 01:13:19 PM
I love this, I tried to make something similar to it but it ended up being such a disaster that I gave up. I might have to try again now tho!
