21  Re: January, February, March 2015 Birthday Swap! Discussion and Gallery in The Swap Gallery by BriannaB03 on: March 04, 2015 06:34:55 PM
I received the most amazing package from greybird the other day!  I was having issues getting pictures, but I have been able to get them!

First, Vintage zippers!  I love this because I need more zipper practice, so I will be able to put some beautiful zippers into some purses and pouches!

Look at all of these zippers!

And two of my most biggest wants!  First this bracelet!
Ms LBBB had pinned a bracelet like this and I totally fell in love with it!  And now I have one of my own!!!!  Grin

And my most biggest want, not one but two stamps!!!  greybird said it was her first time making stamps, but I think that is not true!  These are beautiful!!!  And perfect!

Thank you so much Greybird!!!  Everything is perfect!

Wow!  Everyone is getting such beautiful jewelry!

Here are the amazing hoops by Lindyv321! I have loved her embroidery forever!  And now I'm the proud owner of not 1...not 2...not 3...but 4 YES 4 wonderful hoops!

Here are all 4 together, and individual pictures.

I can't believe I now have 4 hoops!  My bf is hanging them for me this weekend!   Grin

Thank you so so so very much Lindy!  I absolutely love them!

23  Cerebral vasculature in Needlework: Completed Projects by BriannaB03 on: February 22, 2015 04:21:54 PM
I made this hoop for La Chapa in the anatomy swap a while back!  She loves the skull, teeth, and the skeletal and vasculature systems, so I created a hoop that involved all of the above!

*Thanks La Chapa for letting me use your picture.  I forgot to get a final picture.  I only had wip pictures.

24  Messenger bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by BriannaB03 on: February 20, 2015 10:40:52 AM
I recently made a messenger bag for gala_apples in the box of color swap.  I used this tutorial.
The bag went together very easily, and the tutorial is very easy to understand.

I made the bag a little larger than the tutorial suggests since gala was going to need it to hold a large water bottle, some snacks and a notebook.

I also added in a divider and some extra large pockets on the inside of the bag, and a small section for a pen or pencil for the notebook.

There is also a small pocket on the front of the bag.
This bag was very hard to send off, but I know it went to a great home!

That sun catcher is beautiful!

I received the most amazing box of purple today from gala_apples!

It was wrapped beautifully, but I was so excited to see the goodies, I couldn't wait to take a picture, and I ripped into it!  Cheesy

Even the note, and envelope were beautifully made!

Look at all of this beautiful jewelry!  I was spoiled!  They are the perfect style for me too!

and not only did I get all of that but I also received 6, yes 6 Nightmare Before Christmas cards!

My bf's first words when he saw these were "oh you are not giving those away, they are going in a frame!" and he was so right!  I don't think I could ever part with them!

And at the bottom of the box, this gem was hiding!

This is seriously my new mantra!  I say it all the time!  And it is so perfect!

I love everything!  Thank you so much gala_apples!!!!

27  Re: Fake Swap Craftalong for Swap Junkies!!! 2015 in Craftalongs by BriannaB03 on: February 16, 2015 12:38:16 PM
Welp you all talked me into it.  I will join the pinterest swap with you all.  I also want to make a bag from my pinterest.  It is one I have had my eye on for a while, and its a simple pouch.
Plus it will give me more practice with zippers.  I usually try to avoid them because they are not my favorite to sew with, but I think I need the practice so that I am not so scared of them.

So are we suppose to officially sign up like we do for the others or is this not an official sign up?  And if we do, how do we judge the due date?

Details of swap:  This swap was organized so everyone can get something crafty for their birthday!  Please read the guidelines carefully.

**You have ONE WEEK after being approved for this swap in which to make your first claim!**

1.   This swap is list style, like the Ongoing Wish Swap.  However, it is NOT chain style. You can choose any birthday Craftsters list that is posted, rather than only being able to pick from the last one posted like in the OWS.

2.   This is a medium item swap. A medium item is defined as a craft or recon, etc that takes you two hours to complete OR $20 worth of store bought items. (If bought from a thrift store, estimate what it would have cost new.) However, you may also substitute a few small items for a medium.

3.   If your birthday is in swap's current 3 months posted, you can post your birthday wish list for this time period. To do that, you must first PM me with the swap questionnaire filled out and wait for approval. While you're waiting, be sure to post in the discussion/gallery thread: Gallery and Discussion

4.   Once you have been approved, you may post your list of things that you would like to receive.  Please see "Tips to Creating a Good List" below.

5.   Please post lists only in this thread. Discussion can be done here in the combined discussion/gallery thread.  Gallery and Discussion

6.   Every birthday participant must make at least one claim.
     a.  New swappers may only have one outstanding claim at a time
     b.  FOC may have up to 3 outstanding claims at a time
     c.  Everyone else may have up to 2 outstanding claims at a time

7.   The "extras" are just that--extra items you may want to throw in if you are feeling generous, but claims cannot be solely extras.

8.   You may get claimed more than once, but your minimum amount to claim is one.  It is possible you may not get claimed at all. In this case you will not be provided a swap angel; angels are only if you get flaked on. However I do my best to make sure everyone gets claimed by keeping track of how many times each person is claimed. If possible try to pick someone who has been claimed 0 times versus someone who has been claimed 3 times.  Help me keep it fair!

9.   If it is not your birthday but you would like to send a birthday present out you may do so.  Fill out the Un-birthday swapper questionnaire and send it to me for approval.

10.   Birthday swappers who receive a present from a non-birthday swapper must send a snail mail thank you card.  You will not receive feedback until I hear from the other swapper that they have received a thank you card.  Again help me keep it fair!  Its only polite to thank the person who sent you a birthday gift!

11.   When you choose to fulfill a birthday wish, PM both the organizer AND the chosen Craftster.  Please include whether or not you are a birthday swapper or Un-birthday swapper.  At that time, please request the address from the receiver for where to send it.  After that, you have 2 weeks to get the item out the door.

12.   It is super important for everyone to keep good communication.  It is REQUIRED that you PM me when you've sent and of course, don't forget the DC#.  It is REQUIRED that when you receive, you PM me and publicly announce in the gallery (even if you don't have pictures).  If you do not send the appropriate PMs, you will receive poor communication feedback.

13.   When one of your items is chosen, please cross it out so that it is easier for others to see what has been chosen. (It wouldn't hurt to thank the person at this time either.)  You can do this by using the modify or edit option on your original post.

14.   If you are sending late you must PM BriannaB03 by your send-out date.  If your send-out date comes and goes and you dont PM me, you will receive poor communication feedback.  It should not be my job to hunt you down and find out what is going on. (Im not yo mama!  Wink)

15.   If you are flaked on in this swap you will receive an angel, but only in the amount of packages to which you also sent out. For instance, if you send out 2 packages, and are claimed for 3 packages but are flaked on once, you will not receive an angel because you already received 2 packages, which is equal to what you sent. If you send 1 package and are claimed for 1 package and you are flaked on, you will receive 1 angel.

Become an FOC Here

I want everyone to get picked so here are some tips for a well-round list:

--Include a short bio and information such as favorite colors, likes/dislikes, and allergies.

--Make sure your items are actually mediums and smalls. Quilts are not mediums. Large painted portraits are not mediums. Hand knit sweaters are not mediums. This isnt to say that you cant have any large items on your list (some generous soul may have the time and the inclination to choose one of those!), but the majority of the list should be smaller items

--Listing A surprise plus a well filled out Craftster profile and a link to your pinterest (with a decent amount of items on it) is always helpful in getting chosen.  Who doesnt like a surprise?!

--Make sure to post a variety of crafting techniques. If you list appliqud t-shirts in five various themes and count that as your required five items, that is more like one item for someone to choose, not five. Having various crafting methods (sewn, knit, crocheted, paper crafted, jewelry, etc.) is going to make it easier for people to choose you.

--Include links, if possible.

--Check out other lists in past Birthday swaps and the Ongoing Wish Swap for ideas for things you never knew you wanted!

I can't believe I received from my partner already!  Partners were just posted Wink.  She said that the perfect way to spend this rainy weekend was crafting!

A beautiful new scarf in my favorite colors!

And even though these wont actually keep me warm, she knew how much I love the ones that I received from a previous swap and sent me some more face scrubbies!
