11  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: This is definitely what happens when a unicorn pukes... on: August 01, 2011 08:22:09 AM
This is phenomenal!! You have inspired me to make one with crosstitch, as I cannot for the life of me embroider. I posted this on Facebook as a teaser to what I'm going to attempt, and my aunt thought it was a gay pride unicorn. Wonderful, wonderful job. Thanks.

Thanks for the kind comments everyone. I plan on giving this to my bf.  Smiley
13  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Hippos and Bow Ties. What more could you want? on: July 29, 2011 05:25:09 PM
Hi, my name is Gratia, and I make felt animals. So far, I have made around 15 different types. This little hippo is one of my first patterns, and is very different from my current style. I plan on eventually taking pictures and posting all my animals on Craftster, but I'm sick and feeling lazy, so consider this like a teaser.

I've made many more hippos, some with antlers (hippopotomooses), and some with tye dye felt (hippiepotomi). He only took me about an hour from start to finish. Thanks for looking.

Edit: How can I fix it so that there's no error picture as a thumbnail? Thanks!
14  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Skinny VS. Wide on: July 28, 2011 05:57:47 PM
Both look fabulous, but then, so does everything you make. I think you should go for the wide leg look, although you look nice in the skinny leg one. Wide legs are more comfortable in my opinion.

That is awesome. Do you think you could post your pattern for the horn and eyes? Thanks!
17  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Is acrylic really that bad? on: June 29, 2011 08:43:43 AM
I use acrylic all the time, I prefer it over wool or cotton or whatever because I can use it for anything and not have to worry about allergies or felting or whatever, and it's easy clean. My favorite acrylic is Loops and Threads Impeccable for Michaels. I say work with whatever's comfortable for you.
18  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Ripply Star Blanket Help? on: June 29, 2011 08:27:28 AM
Hi, I'm making this blanket: http://thekidneybean.wordpress.com/crochet-patterns/chromium-star-blanket/ , but it's not laying flat, it's all ripply. I made one before, and it too was ripply, so for this one I'm using a bigger hook, but I still have the same problem. I have the right gauge, but it doesn't seem to help make it flat. Thanks! Also, I'm using the right size yarn. And I forgot the picture:
