101  Re: Scrap Happy Patchwork Swap GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by cabaute on: November 10, 2011 05:07:01 PM
Yay, I get to be the FIRST in the gallery!  Woo Hoo!!!  I received BOTH of my packages today (am I lucky, or what?!).  Let the awesomeness ensue.  Warning:  This is a pic heavy post... I have to do justice to all of the awesome Cheesy  I think I'll split them up into two postings, so that you can appreciate the full bounty of each package.

First, a fantastic package from susanab, a sweet mug rug, eyeglass case and awesome extras, sock monkey clips and 2 fat quarters!

Check out the packaging, I got excited as soon as I pulled everything out of the envelope!

Inside was a ton of goodies!  Two sock monkey clips, two fat quarters, a fantastically yummy candy bar (gone already, I want a supplier for these - like a Nutty Buddy but with coffee flavor... SOOOOO GOOOOD), a mug rug and an eyeglass case:

Gorgeous, beautiful, bright, primary color MUG RUG full of win!!!  I lol'd, Susan mentioned worrying over the parts of the cats that were showing, but said that's usually the part she caught and I couldn't agree more.  Totally representative of elusive kittehs!!  Cheesy

The fun eyeglass case - I LOVE the owlie print (it's laying on the back of the mug rug)

And the Fat Quarters and yummy goodness:

Thank you SO MUCH susanab, I love everything and it is 100% perfect for me!

All the hearts are so cool!  I love the tatted and the lace ones, and the crochet ones are super cute!!

I received my hearts from sillysmushyhippocake today, they are PERFECT!  A buddha themed one and a skeleton one; I love them so much, I can't decide which is my favorite!!!!!  Check it out:

I love this skeleton one, it is so perfect!  The colors of both of these are marvelous also.

Here is the Buddha.  He makes me so happy!  Cheesy

103  Re: Halloween Stuff a Small Priority Mail Box Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by cabaute on: October 22, 2011 10:28:42 PM
Hi all!

I'm a bit behind getting pics up in the gallery - I've been out of town (and still am through 10/28) and so trying to coordinate getting all the info from my hubby!

He sent me pictures but sadly lacking in detail (he didn't tell me what anything is, and I can't tell for sure from the pics!!!), and he didn't unpackage the bag of goodies, which looks to have some fun ATCs and such in with the candy.  At least I finally got the pics  Tongue

Here is a group shot:

And a detail shot of some AWESOME Sugar Skulls!   It looks like these are embroidered (mintdawn please feel free to add details and more pics if you have them - sorry!).  I SO cannot wait to get home and get my hands on everything in person to check it out!

Thanks so much, mintdawn, for being an awesome partner!  This stuff looks awesome and I am super excited to have it waiting for me at home!   Smiley

Ooh I love all the mug rugs so far!  That skunk is great; makes me so happy Smiley

Here is my beautiful vintage-y (?) mug rug from Bergman!  Happy yellow, orange, turquoise and purple, with a cute embroidered steaming mug in the center.

Close up of the embroidery:

And the back:

Thank you so much, Bergman!  Yours went in the mail today, and will hopefully arrive very soon!

*Edit!!  I forgot to note that the package also included a very yummy Maxwell House Maxiccino that I just drank here at work as well as a package of tea (which is at home and I haven't tried yet... I can't recall what variety it was but I am sure I will love it as I love all tea Smiley )

I got the most GORGEOUS card from kyerinn - The Lovers in Mystical Animals theme.  It is so gorgeous I think I have to frame it and put it somewhere that it will get the attention it deserves!  It is a beautiful ink drawing.  So amazing!

107  Re: 2011 r3 mini 13 days of Halloween Gallery in The Swap Gallery by cabaute on: September 20, 2011 08:22:41 PM
My loot is here, my loot is here!  PurplePaisley and I agreed to start opening on October 1, which is really helpful for me since I'm going out of town for 2 weeks on 10/14 and wouldn't get to enjoy everything otherwise!!!

Here is Day 1, the outside package, a large Halloween duffel bag!  This will be great for storing Halloween stuff in the off season.

I opened it up and inside was this cutie to welcome me to the swap. Smiley  She has a crocheted pumpkin and black cat, an awesome hairy mole on her nose, and some very glam high heels, lol!  Day 2:

Here she is posing with the other gifts:

I opened Day 3 before I left for work this morning... I couldn't wait. Cheesy  Inside were these super cute tiles!  I need to find a good way to display them; in the meantime they are leaning on my backsplash.

So fun so far!!!

Today I got an awesome fun orange scarf!  Perfect both for Halloween and also for Virginia Tech football season!! Cheesy Let's go HOKIES!!!  Day 4:

Day 5 is some really cool handmade and painted magnets!  I need to get some snaps of the back, you can see the clay rounded around.  I think maybe these were made using a press of some kind.  Pretty darn cool!

And day 6 is some super sweet placemats!  Check out the embroidery on these, so beautiful!!  I think my machine could do some similar patterns, but I can't sew that straight!!!

Day 7 is an awesome table runner, perfect for my extra long table.  It's nice also, because it's totally reversible, so when Halloween is over you can just flip it over and keep on using it!  Smiley

Closeups of the fabric:

Today's gift is a cool tea carrier.  This will be great for traveling (I'm heading out of town on Friday and this is going with me!!).  There's a fun (poly clay?) closure on the outside, and inside it holds a bunch of tea (it came stocked with yummy flavors perfect for the occasion - pumpkin spice and apple cider).  Day 8:

Day 9 is a fun ribbon wreath - this is a great idea...  I think I'm going to have to make more of these so I can have one for each holiday!!

Day 10 - a fun "BOO!" banner - need to get a dowel to hang this up!

Day 11 - Oooh my doggies are super happy !!   I don't know which flavor they like better, they keep asking me to give them more samples so they can decide Cheesy

Day 12 - A super cute dangly-legged ghost and a glitter ghost snow globe!  I love the grin on the cat looking into the snow globe.  These are too cute!!

Day 13 - The final day has yummy snacks for ME (all mine, mine, mine!  Cheesy ) My favorite Dark Chocolate, combined with pomegranate seeds and with caramels.  I don't know which flavor I like better, I keep sampling back and fort to decide Wink

Thank you so much for being such a great partner, PurplePaisley!  I had a ton of fun doing this swap.

Ah!  Thank you dontdresslikeapril - I knew she looked familiar  Cheesy! Katara - those are really cute Smiley  I love the way you put them together.

I got confirmation yesterday from blupaisan that she received her Emperor card / Disaster Movies theme.  She doesn't have a camera so asked me to post a pic.  This is one of the ones I built out using GIMP (the free Photoshop alternative) and then made into a heavy cardstock card.

109  Re: Goddess Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by cabaute on: September 06, 2011 06:15:00 PM
I get to be the first to kick off our gallery, with my incredible spoils from the marvelous and talented Fullmoon!!  I got back from a quick out of town trip to find a tube and padded envelope awaiting me.   I just don't even know what to say except... I am SO LUCKY!!!!!  I have the best (and oh my goddess, so talented) swap partner.  Eek!  Swap anxiety!  I hope I can live up to this.

Here are pics of my booty! Smiley Smiley

First is this awesome hand drawn poster of Ma'at.  I love it, it is so beautiful!!  I can't wait to get it framed and hang it up in my office.  You can't really tell from this picture, but it is a good size art piece - maybe 18 x 14 or something like that?  It is gorgeous.

In the padded envelope I got a fantastic chainmaille necklace and four pairs of earrings!!!  Yippee!!!  I hope you can see the details in these pics; they are phenomenal!

Finally, here's me wearing my booty to work today (the necklace, the triple earrings and the feather earrings:

Alison, you are an amazing and talented woman.  Thank you so much!!!

Ok, prepare for some more awesome!! I love all the monsters so far... So creative and lovely Smiley Smiley Smiley  Swap pressure!!!

Here is some more inspiration from my lovely swap partner chughes225.  She got inspired to do a set of three (yay!!) lovelies for me, LUCKY ME!!  Yeee!!!!

Check out Frank, Punkie, and Mums!

I keep changing my mind on which is my favorite (ah, you can't have favorite children, anyway!!

I love how their eyes and teeth are all slightly different.  Smiley

Along with that were two FANTASTIC Virginia Tech scarves for my darling pups!!  Perfect timing for FOOTBALL SEASON!  John and I are huge fans (and he's an alum), so he loved these almost more than I did.  I couldn't find a way to get good glamor shots of the dogs and the scarves at the same time, so I'll feature the scarves so you can appreciate the glory (with their names, I love it):

So much awesome.  I'm a lucky girl!!!  Thank you chughes225!!!
