101  Re: Jar of Hearts - our digital jar in The Swap Gallery by cabaute on: November 24, 2011 10:32:13 AM
YAY!  I was really getting worried that some hearts had been confiscated by the customs folks, because it was taking such a long time for mine to get to their destination and for me to receive.  I received my Canadian hearts yesterday from Agnes (thedreamer). . I was super envious of that adorable penguin heart earlier and now I have my very own!!!!!   I just love it!!  And a crochet heart that I love (I so want to learn how to do this).  Check out this adorable group shot (with the super cute tiny note!).  Did I mention I also love the color of the crochet one?  One of my favorite colors.  So. Perfect.

102  Re: Christmas/Winter Ninni Swap GALLERY: send out by 12/7 in The Swap Gallery by cabaute on: November 24, 2011 10:11:05 AM
I got my Ninni, I got my Ninni!!!

I received my package yesterday from Subee.  It is WONDERFUL!  She sent an adorable Ninni that I named "Poppy" (in honor of the gorgeous fabric she is wearing), an incredibly detailed woodburned ornament with a nature scene (this makes me think of Montana or someplace - I think that is an Elk peeking through the woods), some peanut butter treats for my furkids and a jar of Cinnamon Cappuccino Mix.   I just made myself a big mug of the Cappuccino and it smells so good I singed my tongue trying to get a sip before it cooled down  Roll Eyes  Oops!

Here is the whole group together

A closeup of adorable Poppy - I love the rickrack, that touch (well, the darling Poppy as a whole, every cute little detail) just makes me smile!!!

The amazing woodburned ornament:

And finally, here's a pic of my furkids (Gracie in front and Charlie in the back) doing their "tricks" sit / lay down so they can get some of the treats!!!!  Cheesy

Sue, thank you so much, this is a GREAT package!!!!  I am so thankful to have been blessed with such a wonderful partner.

All but two of my partners have received as of Friday. r.forslund (US mailing address, but actually in Germany) hasn't, and I don't have tracking for thedreamer in Canada so am not sure if they've arrived yet or not.  I noticed that only one partner has posted pics (thanks Zigg13pra!), so I wanted to put up pics for the other two partners, Kristl and Sillysmushyhippocake.

Kristl said that she did jewelry and wanted hearts that could possibly be used for that... I'm not much of a jewelry worker so I did my best by including a wire/moonstone one, a felted one and a couple that could be used out of salt dough:

Sillysmushyhippocake has a lot of pets (dogs & cats) and likes sort of unusual stuff, so I made her a pet themed heart and one with skulls:

I like the fabric on the skull one, it was in the remnant bin; I thought it was sort of cute:

I'm ready for our next round already!  I've received three sets of hearts, but only two of them so far have been the 3-d kind, so my big half-gallon gar is still looking pretty empty.

Hi all!  I received my hearts from Kristl and Zigg13pra today!

Here are the ones from Kristl:

My fave is the tiny polka dot heart

The stamp is also impressive!!

And here are the ones from Zigg13pra:

I love, love, love this set- it is decorating the outside of my jar now!

Though I really love the super multicolored one also.  So awesome!
Thank you so much, ladies!  It was awesome swapping with you!

105  Re: Scrap Happy Patchwork Swap GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by cabaute on: November 10, 2011 05:41:52 PM
I received BOTH of my packages today (am I lucky, or what?!).  Let the awesomeness ensue.  Warning:  This is a pic heavy post... I have to do justice to all of the awesome Cheesy I think I'll split them up into two postings, so that you can appreciate the full bounty of each package.

Here is my phenomenal package from StickerChic87, a lovely microwavable neck warmer, a simply gorgeous pin cushion (I almost hate to poke pins in it... almost!), and some magnets based off my Pinterest Cheesy

First check out the neck warmer.  Are these fabrics awesome together or what?!  I had to look closely and feel to really make sure they were seams and that it wasn't a lovely patchwork fabric.  What a great scrap combination!!  Did I mention that it has the green and teals that are my favorites?  Love.

The pin cushion is so beautiful a color, and SUCH an elegant look to it with the square shaping.  I really love it!  It is just the ticket to keep on my computer desk.  I'm constantly bringing little crafts to my desk along with loose needles, and the cheap tomato pincushions I have just didn't make the cut to be on my handmade hardwood desk on public display.  I will be super proud to keep this gorgeous one out!!  The photo just doesn't do it justice.  I love the batik fabrics on both of these items.

Finally some fun fab magnets based on ones on my Pinterest!  I love these so much and have been thinking of making some but haven't tried it yet.  I love these so much, they are super cute (notice the tiny bird).  I had a really hard time getting a good pic of these as well; this is the best I could manage.

Beth - these are wonderful, and my favorite colors with the purple and green/teal combo.  I love everything so much - thank you for being such a great partner!!

Yay, I get to be the FIRST in the gallery!  Woo Hoo!!!

First, a fantastic package from susanab, a sweet mug rug, eyeglass case and awesome extras, sock monkey clips and 2 fat quarters!

Check out the packaging, I got excited as soon as I pulled everything out of the envelope!

Inside was a ton of goodies!  Two sock monkey clips, two fat quarters, a fantastically yummy candy bar (gone already, I want a supplier for these - like a Nutty Buddy but with coffee flavor... SOOOOO GOOOOD), a mug rug and an eyeglass case:

Gorgeous, beautiful, bright, primary color MUG RUG full of win!!!  I lol'd, Susan mentioned worrying over the parts of the cats that were showing, but said that's usually the part she caught and I couldn't agree more.  Totally representative of elusive kittehs!!  Cheesy

The fun eyeglass case - I LOVE the owlie print (it's laying on the back of the mug rug)

And the Fat Quarters and yummy goodness:

Thank you SO MUCH susanab, I love everything and it is 100% perfect for me!

All the hearts are so cool!  I love the tatted and the lace ones, and the crochet ones are super cute!!

I received my hearts from sillysmushyhippocake today, they are PERFECT!  A buddha themed one and a skeleton one; I love them so much, I can't decide which is my favorite!!!!!  Check it out:

I love this skeleton one, it is so perfect!  The colors of both of these are marvelous also.

Here is the Buddha.  He makes me so happy!  Cheesy

108  Re: Halloween Stuff a Small Priority Mail Box Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by cabaute on: October 22, 2011 10:28:42 PM
Hi all!

I'm a bit behind getting pics up in the gallery - I've been out of town (and still am through 10/28) and so trying to coordinate getting all the info from my hubby!

He sent me pictures but sadly lacking in detail (he didn't tell me what anything is, and I can't tell for sure from the pics!!!), and he didn't unpackage the bag of goodies, which looks to have some fun ATCs and such in with the candy.  At least I finally got the pics  Tongue

Here is a group shot:

And a detail shot of some AWESOME Sugar Skulls!   It looks like these are embroidered (mintdawn please feel free to add details and more pics if you have them - sorry!).  I SO cannot wait to get home and get my hands on everything in person to check it out!

Thanks so much, mintdawn, for being an awesome partner!  This stuff looks awesome and I am super excited to have it waiting for me at home!   Smiley

Ooh I love all the mug rugs so far!  That skunk is great; makes me so happy Smiley

Here is my beautiful vintage-y (?) mug rug from Bergman!  Happy yellow, orange, turquoise and purple, with a cute embroidered steaming mug in the center.

Close up of the embroidery:

And the back:

Thank you so much, Bergman!  Yours went in the mail today, and will hopefully arrive very soon!

*Edit!!  I forgot to note that the package also included a very yummy Maxwell House Maxiccino that I just drank here at work as well as a package of tea (which is at home and I haven't tried yet... I can't recall what variety it was but I am sure I will love it as I love all tea Smiley )

110  My first needle felted project in Felting: Completed Projects by cabaute on: September 26, 2011 08:50:14 PM
Here's my first needle felted project, a miniature of my Welsh Terrier, Charlie:

I really like needle felting - it is soothing somehow!!  If anyone has any good tips on where to buy roving, I'd appreciate it!
