1  A closet full of clothes in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by darkdiva on: August 05, 2008 09:53:01 AM
for one very lucky sister  Smiley

I used patterns for all of these and just added the pattern numbers.

I used the same pattern (Simplicity 3745) for all three of these....

and she needed some work skirts...

McCall's 5631

Simplicity 4236

There was more but I haven't been able to get any pictures of her in them.

Comments & critiques welcome Smiley

4  Re: Vintage 'dos and make-up (Come share your secrets!) in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by darkdiva on: February 26, 2008 08:06:20 AM
I love the vintage look and love to use it with a modern twist. I worn this fun hat that was my Grandma's with a vintage suit to a play (used rag curls):

And this is how I look normally when I go out for an evening of well mannered frivolity:

Kai I love your look. You look like you stepped out of a black & white photo... gorgeous!

5  Party shirt & Birthday dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by darkdiva on: February 12, 2008 10:35:20 AM
This past weekend was my Birthday (33 Oh My!) and also a good friends birthday. So I made myself a shirt for her party:

and a dress for my birthday

They are both super comfy and made me very happy Smiley

On a side note...you know you have an addiction when almost everyone you know gets you gift certificates to fabric stores for you birthday.

I made this dress for a Day of the Dead celebration a friend was hosting.

And a close up of the super cute necklace I made to match. The skulls are bells so the jingle when I move Smiley

7  From the boardroom to the dance floor *Image heavy* in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by darkdiva on: February 04, 2008 08:41:07 AM
I got this shirt at the Rack for $8. I loved the pin stripe pattern but was not in love with the style.

So I cut the sleeves and added a big bow and now I am ready to wear it out and about.

I am really loving the finished project. I think I may change the buttons out for some black ones.

Comments & critiques welcome .

This year my sister-in-law and boyfriend both asked if I would make their costumes. And silly me I said SURE! Though both costumes had their difficulties I am pleased with how they turned out.

The wings moved whenever he did.

Unfortunately we had such a great time at the party we were all at the camera was forgotten and I didn't get a single picture of either of them wearing the creations.  Embarrassed
